ways to ask your man for something and get it

Image result for picture of woman asking her partner for something

Relationships always involve giving, sharing and reaching compromises.

Given the fact that men are generally believed to be the stronger of the pair and hence, often the provider, it is not uncommon that women usually have things to ask, demands to make, and changes required of their significant other.
Below are 3 sure ways that will help you get whatever you want anytime you make the request of your man.

Go straight to the point

In an attempt to avoid looking so direct and demanding, some choose the other option of ‘stylishly’ making the requests. This is done by dropping hints, and communicating their desire for that particular thing in no express terms.

Not going straight to the point when making requests could pose a problem in relationships (HecticParents)
If you want to get an answer, you need to stick to the point rather than communicating through subtext. Often times, the intention is even lost on your man during the indirect asking and hint-droppings. Hence, make a request for the thing that you actually want, or you just might not get it.

Don't guilt trip him

The point here is to discourage you ladies from shaming your spouse or partner into getting what you want.
Sure, taking him on a guilt trip might get you want, but that’s more down to him trying to save face or maintain his. You really do not want that to be the standard in your relationship.
Nobody wants to feel like they're doing the wrong thing all the time. So instead of saying to your boyfriend or husband, “Why haven’t you done this or that for me in six months?” you could instead say “It would mean a lot to me if you did this, or if you did that.”

Show appreciation

This is almost the simplest thing ever to do, but sadly it is the one taken for granted the most.

Appreciating the little thing a man does for you will only make you both happier and stronger together (ForHarriet)

It is sometimes said that men are like dogs in the sense that they loved to be praised, just the way you would pat your dog on the head for being of ‘good behaviour’ or for some similar act that’ll be considered ‘good behaviour’ for a dog.
Though the comparison with dogs doesn’t really sit well with me, I have to agree with the logic behind it. Men indeed love to have their egos massaged, they want to feel like they are doing things right. An important part of any relationship is to regularly let your partner know you appreciate the things he does, that you don't take those things for granted.

How do you express your love?

Image result for picture of happy black couple

Expressing your love differs from person to person, and according to Dr. Gary Chapman, a Christian counselor and author, people can be divided into five different categories depending on how they express their love.

He wrote The Five Love Languages in which he divides these ways into the following categories:
Words of Affirmation
This is when you say how nice your partner looks, or how great they cook, or what an amazing person they are. It's all about building up your partner, making them feel good and reassured.
Acts of Service
If you or your partner show love by doing things for each other, then you fall into this category, however its an easy trap to fall into if you do these acts begrudgingly.
Things like helping around the house, hanging the washing, going to the market, or putting the kids to bed need to be done with joy in order to be perceived as a gift of love, Chapman says
Quality Time
Some people place spending time together as the most important way to show love.
Not so much just sitting there on your phones, it's about connecting while doing something, even if you are just chilling.
Receiving Gifts
Giving or getting a gift from your partner can be the best way you may express love, or like to receive it. It doesn't need to be expensive or flashy, it's more a way of showing you care or are thinking of each other.
Physical Touch
If you always like to be physically affectionate, and not just sex, hugs, kisses, back rubs etc then this is likely where you fit. This physical contact is very reassuring and meaningful to someone with this love language.
So now you know the categories, figuring where you fit is easy.
As marriage.about.com says, ask yourself:

How do I express love to others?
What do I complain about the most?
What do I request most often?

Get your partner to do the same, it could be that you are in different categories, but as Chapman cautions in his book, "We're not talking comfort. We're talking love. Love is something we do for someone else. So often couples love one another but they aren't connecting. They are sincere, but sincerity isn't enough."
So you need to get out of that comfort zone to meet each other's emotional needs, while people tend to naturally give love in the way that they prefer to receive love, there needs to be a middle ground.
So once you have figure out each other's love languages, it's time to communicate in them.
If your partner needs words of affirmation, surprise them with some sweet messages through the day on why you love them.
If it's quality time they need, despite your busy lives, commit to a date every week where you hang out together, and leave the phones at home.
If your love loves physical touch then get some nice massage oils and surprise them with a massage at the end of their busy day.
If gifts are the way to your lover's heart, then you don't need to blow the budget, it's about the thought.
Also, when it comes to birthdays or Christmas, make sure you put effort in, even if its organising a nice dinner.
If they like things done for them, use your initiative, be equals in the household, you can mop the floor, cook dinner or even asking how you can help will go a long way.

Things Emotionally Intelligent People Don’t Do

The restaurant manager who speaks with poise and grace to the patron complaining loudly about the wait service. The levelheaded friend you call in your greatest times of need. The compassionate but composed rescue worker who aids victims after a natural catastrophe. The partner who angers rarely, forgives easily, and assumes accountability for their actions. The successful CEO who balances her profession, her family responsibilities, and her personal hobbies with equal measures of calm and confidence.
What do these people have in common?
In two words: Emotional Intelligence. A relatively new trend in the realm of pop culture and psychology today, Emotional Intelligence — or EQ — has existed since the beginning of time. According to Psychology Today, the preeminent site for mental health education and information, Emotional Intelligence is defined as an aptitude for identifying and managing emotions, and the emotions of others. It consists of three primary skills: the ability to analyze interior emotions and the feelings of those around them, the capacity to apply emotions to tasks, and the facility to take control of emotions — whether it’s managing their own before they veer out of control, or having the strength and capability to make another person smile, settle down, or handle a situation appropriately.
Those with high Emotional “IQs” have been proven to enjoy more prosperity in life. Whether they’re in a social or professional environment, they thrive. Studies demonstrate they have fewer mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. Their personal lives aren’t train wrecks, precisely because they’re lived from the point of thoughtful — and meaningful — decisions. They outperform others, excel at their jobs, are happy in their relationships, and consistently work towards attaining positive results in all aspects of life. So, the question is, what don’t they do?
Here are 7 things emotionally intelligent people, as a rule, avoid:

1. They don’t get caught up in other people’s drama.

One of the hallmarks of Emotional Intelligence is empathy, and those with high EQs extend it to everyone they cross. But there’s an enormous difference between displaying empathy towards a friend or loved one and allowing another person’s rage or misery to incense, dominate, or merely influence one’s well-being. Think of the histrionic behavior of your co-worker who is “distraught” not because she’s going through a break-up but because her friend is. Or that cousin of yours who, instead of focusing on her individual personal crises, purposefully seeks out people who are distressed so that her problems disappear via distraction — a habit so ingrained she can’t seem to address her the complications in her own life.
Emotionally intelligent people, on the other hand, listen carefully, provide gentle, loving, but authoritative advice, and offer assistance. But they don’t permit others’ lives and reactions to rule their own.

2. They don’t complain.

Whining and grumbling implies two things — one, that we are victims, and two, there are no solutions to our problems. Rarely does an emotionally intelligent person feel victimized, and even more infrequently does an emotionally intelligent person feel that a solution is beyond their grasp. Instead of looking for someone or something to blame, they immediately think of how to constructively address the dilemma. They also know that their complaints influence the emotional responses of those around them, and instead search for ways to bemoan the dissolution of a relationship or a disappointment with a friend in private, effective ways — whether it’s taking a yoga class, meditating alone at a park, or simply getting their feelings out on the page.

3. They don’t always say yes — to others and themselves.

Like empathy, self-control and conviction are sure signs of an emotionally solid person. Emotionally intelligent people are well-aware that a second glass of wine will lead to negative consequences the next morning, just as they know that an invitation to go on a spontaneous weekend rendezvous will detract them from fulfilling their preexisting commitments. They are definitive about their decisions, rather than saying “I don’t know, maybe?” or “Perhaps I’ll skip the gym today,” which invites doubt — and with that, heightened anxiety, even depression.
The more often emotionally intelligent people exercise their right to say no, and the more frequently they rely on their willpower, the freer they are to concentrate on their ambitions and overall well-being.

4. They don’t gossip.

Emotionally acute people sidestep gossip as determinedly as they skirt drama. To involve themselves in scandalous talk, they know, is to shame another for a supposed error — and an emotionally intelligent person understands that all humans are equally deserving, and that what others might perceive as a mistake is an opportunity for improvement.

5. They don’t count on others for happiness or confidence.

Emotionally intelligent people are self-sufficient in all manners of life, including their contentment and peace of mind. They have learned that to bank on someone else making them feel joyful or worthy is to put themselves at risk for disappointment and hopelessness. Rather, they take their emotions in their own hands and find hobbies that delight them, strive for achievements that will lead to a sense of self-worth, and search within for love and acceptance.

6. They don’t engage in negative self-talk.

While few of us are entirely immune to thinking (or saying) pessimistic statements that begin with “I” (“I’m unattractive,” “I should have done better,” “I’m pathetic”), emotionally intelligent have the ability to curb cynical thoughts before they fall down the proverbial rabbit hole. Instead, they rely on facts to come to conclusions. For some, it’s a mere glance at their experience and accomplishments outlined on their CVs; for others, it’s the appearance of a clean and organized house, or an internal analysis of what they’ve done right.
After all, emotionally intelligent people acknowledge that negative thoughts are just that — thoughts — just as they recognize that the derogatory interior voices they hear are theirs to turn down, tune out, or silence completely.

7. They don’t dwell on the past.

People who exist more in their past than in their present are susceptible to a barrage of mental and spiritual grievances, from regret and nostalgia to agitation and trepidation. Emotionally intelligent people honor their pasts — the people they have loved, the mistakes they have made, the opportunities they’ve eschewed — but are mindful of the importance of living squarely in the here and now.

By learning from the past (instead of dwelling on it), the emotionally intelligent have the power to inform their present — without diminishing their ability to advance or harness three of the most vital emotions of all: Self-satisfaction, gratitude, and hope.

Actions You Should Take to Get Rich at an Incredibly High Speed

Do you want to be rich? Many people believe that being financially successful is pure luck, but there are many things that anybody can do to become rich.
From changing your mentality to extra learning, check out 10 actions you can take to get rich at an incredibly high speed.

1. Think of four ways you could make money outside of your job.

If you want to be rich it is important to stop thinking “I earn enough” and to start thinking “I could earn more.” Write down four ways you could earn money outside of your main job. From creating an e-book to selling on Amazon, there are many ways you could increase your income that would only require a little effort and time.

2. Learn in your free time.

To move up in your career and become rich, you must master new skills and knowledge in your area. Instead of just focusing on putting effort in at work, it can be very useful to learn more about your area in your free time. There are many ways you can do this, from reading books to listening to pod-casts to attending classes and seminars. Remember that the more skilled you are, the more you deserve to earn.

3. Set specific financial goals.

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” This phrase is very true when it comes to finances, with many people believing that their financial goals are to pay the rent and bills. If you are already paying your rent and bills, it is time to set higher financial goals, such as saving, paying off debt or increasing your annual income. Mentality is important; always think big when it comes to your finances.

4. Make money your friend instead of your enemy.

Money pays for your home and it is has the ability to give you security, so it is important to view money as your friend and not your enemy. Write down 20 things you are glad your money pays for, such as your home and your new shoes. If you struggle to see money in a positive light, remind yourself that money can either open doors or closes doors—it is your choice.

5. Solve a problem every week.

Rich people choose to focus on solving problems, rather than complaining about them. This attitude helps to improve your solution thinking, opening your eyes up to new financial opportunities and chances that could benefit you. Write down a financial problem once a week, such as raising your income or figuring out how to lower the price of your grocery shop, and come up with a practical solution to solve the problem. Keep going until you have improved all aspects of your financial situation.

6. Get a library card.

A library card is excellent value for money and opens up new worlds of knowledge. Having a library card gives you the option to expand your knowledge in your chosen area without spending too much, which is the perfect tactic to help you earn more money within your career.

7. Do something that pushes you out of your comfort zone.

Many people are too scared to make uncomfortable decisions, but rich people are often more willing to. From leaving your job so you can start your own business to asking for a raise, many choices that seem initially difficult will be financially rewarding. Do something that makes you feel uncomfortable but may improve your life situation. It is pleasant to be comfortable, but it is much better to improve your life and financial situation.

8. Track your financial progress every month.

If you are bad with spending, it doesn’t matter if you are rich or not. You could have a high wage and still be left with little to nothing by the end of the month. Write down your income, as well as all of your out-going expenses. Is there anything that costs too much which you can cut out? This gives you a chance to see the bigger picture and allows you to make changes that will improve your finances.

9. Prioritize your goals.

You probably already have financial goals, but if you having too many can mean none of your goals are met. Instead of simultaneously trying to save up for a car and a holiday while paying off debt, decide which goal is your most important. Focus on achieving that, and then move on to your next goal.

10. Start investing wisely.

If you have no experience of investing, don’t start to invest without knowledge. Speak to a professional about how to invest well, or read up on the subject on-line. When you are educated and knowledgeable about investing, make small investments in business you know will be lucrative.

Reasons why you must pursue a masters degree

Many people wonder if it is really worth it to pursue a Masters degree after their first degree. And to be honest there are several views on the topic.
For most people the major motive behind going for masters is the bigger paycheck and better job security., Yet are there other reasons you should pursue a masters degree apart from the financial benefits?
Below are 7 reasons:

1. In-depth knowledge:
While your first degree might be due to norm or parental pressure, deciding to pursue a masters degree in any course of study is sure to give you an in-depth knowledge in that field. You will be able to speak with authority and even improve on the way things are done in that field of study.
2. Job Opportunities:
While this may look like an obvious benefit, many do not understand that this is a great advantage. As a masters degree holder in any course of study, you are automatically qualified to serve as a consultant in that field. this means that you have the freedom to choose from a wide range of job offers, unlike bachelor degree holders.

3. Free Education
Most times scholarship opportunities and work study programs exists for those who want to pursue a masters degree, so most times you do not have to spend as much as you actually think. also some programs organize a stipend for masters degree students.

4. It Offers the opportunity to Change Careers
Some may not be happy with the degree they have from their bachelors. Therefore the masters degree gives you an opportunity to make a change to a more suitable course, one you prefer and enjoy.

5. Respectability

The respect you get from people also make pursuing a masters degree worthwhile. When someone says i have a PhD in this field, it marks him out as an intellectual and an authority. people will tend to seek his opinion on matters relating to that field.

Ways to Save Money and Be Rich after You graduate

There’s no one among us who does not like to have more money. If you sometimes wonder about how the rich and successful have so much of it though, you need to read on. We have compiled a list of hacks that you can apply in your daily life to save money the way wealthy people do.

1. Be careful about small expenses

All of us are usually careful about making big investments and huge purchases. However, we tend to spend recklessly on seemingly small expenses.
But of course, these small expenses can amass to a big amount.
As Suze Orman rightly pointed out, “Look everywhere you can to cut a little bit from your expenses. It will all add up to a meaningful sum.”

2. Focus on the future

It is very easy to spend money for getting something that we like but at the end of the day, you will end up spending everything no matter how well you earn. Shift your focus to the future instead of getting satisfaction in the present.
“You can be young without money, but you can’t be old without it.” – Tennessee Williams

3. Don’t buy unnecessary things to make an impression on people

Although we all like to have good feedback from our peers and friends regarding the things we own, we need to set a limit for us. You should buy things that you need but don’t just buy those to impress others. Otherwise the sky isn’t the limit for buying things!
“Stop buying things you don’t need, to impress people you don’t even like.” – Suze Orman

4. Put things in black and white

There are so many expenditures in today’s world that you would end up without any savings if you don’t plan and budget your money; the inflows and the outflows. Wealthy people know where their money comes from and where it goes.
An Excel sheet can really help you in this regard.
“A budget is telling your money where to go, instead of wondering where it went.”- John C. Maxwell

5. Work hard

Unlike the common perception that wealthy people just have fun and enjoy their life, the reality is that they work harder than the common person, at least in the most productive age. So try to increase your income, and when it gets increased, save a larger portion of it than ever before.
“I like business and the truth is I save way more than I spend. I invest. I plan for the future. I have a special eye for opportunities and work harder than anyone might expect.” – Sofia Vergara

6. Save a huge portion of your income

Again, we think that wealthy people are always splurging and spending on things. No, they are not. That is why they remain wealthy.
They always save a portion of their income. So save a large proportion of what you get. This will ensure that you do not run out of money at any point in time.
“Save one-third, live on one-third and give away one-third.” – Angelina Jolie

7. Make the most of sales and bargains

Just like us, the rich love to get the highest value of money. They always try to look for getting more value through finding great deals, bargains and discounts.
“Why should you pay more for something that someone else is paying less for?” – Sarah Michelle Gellar

8. Invest your savings wisely

We usually ignore the small amounts but such tiny amounts can add up to a substantial sum. If you have more, it is even better. To top it, if you invest the money properly, you will be amazed at the result yourself.
“A penny here, and a dollar there, placed at interest, goes on accumulating, and in this way the desired result is attained. It requires some training, perhaps, to accomplish this economy, but when once used to it, you will find there is more satisfaction in rational saving than in irrational spending.”  – P. T. Barnum

9. Practice the Millionaire’s Formula

A common man’s way of thinking is usually that he saves after meeting the necessary expenditures. A wealthy person’s style is the opposite: we like to call this the Millionaire’s Formula.
Here’s how it goes: upon receiving your income, put a certain percentage towards giving back to the community, and also a certain percentage for your investments for your financial goals. Only spend what is left.
“Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.” – Warren Buffet

10. Close leakages

The wealthy don’t ever pay any unnecessary charges. They remain very careful about the fees and charges that can be avoided.
“Beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship.” – Benjamin Franklin

Follow these simple, practical tips in your life and you will be able to see the difference yourself. Happy savings!

Habits That Will Stop You From Achieving Sucess

“I would be so successful if someone just gave me a shot!”
Many people out there have mindsets and attitudes that set them up for failure. When confronted with possible reasons for failure, or a lack of personal success, they often end up just making excuses. Here are 10 particular bad habits that keep those people from achieving success.

1. Loafing

They’ll write that novel just as soon as they’re done with their favorite show. Oh, but now they’re hungry. They’ll get started after a snack. Oh, but now that snack has made them sleepy–a little nap couldn’t hurt, right?
One of the hardest, and the most obvious, parts of achieving success is the actual work. Procrastinating, making excuses or tricking themselves into loafing is just going to cement the fact that nothing will ever get done. It might not sound pretty, or even too easy, but the easiest way to get to success is to just jump in and get going (which is exactly how I got started).

2. Blaming

It’s not their fault they’re not successful. The industry is bad, they don’t have the money, etc. When it comes down to it, however, who is the one responsible for their success? Themselves.
This is the day and age where people are launching successful start-ups in a few months, getting published online and finding their way to success one way or another. Some things might be out of their control, but blaming others is just going to waste the energy and time they need to get going.

3. Sour grapes

Being envious of the success of others is almost as bad as blaming them. All the time and energy they could be putting into their own goals is going towards a person who more than likely has done nothing but show them that the goal is attainable. They don’t have to be applauding their success, but being envious and sour about it is a waste of time–let it roll off the shoulders and dig down towards accomplishing goals.

4. Minimizing others success

Again, they don’t have to be cheering and raving about the success of others, but minimizing their accomplishments looks bad on them and on their own goals. If they attained success, would they want others rolling their eyes and treating it like it is not a big deal in the slightest? I highly doubt it. “So they climbed Mount Everest, big whoop. Plenty of people have done it before.” Have they?

5. Talking

They’re going to do this, they’re going to do that–the proof is in the pudding, ultimately. Talking about their goals and what they’re going to accomplish is all well and good, but talking time is better spent actually doing. Talking about goals has actually been shown to make you less likely to reach them, so zip up those chattering lips and dive in.

6. Making assumptions

You know what they say about the word ‘assume’, it makes an (inappropriate word I’ll leave out of this article) out of ‘u’ and ‘me’ . Unsuccessful people are the best at making assumptions without considering other outlets or opportunities. Missed chance after missed chance can put anyone behind, or completely ruin something that they poured a lot of hard work into. People are often surprised at what happens if they take a chance instead of listening to that little pessimist inside their heads. ‘Never assume’ is good advice and it is a mindset they should get out of as quickly as possible.

7. Procrastinating

This one is obvious, isn’t it? It’s about the same as loafing, but even worse because it applies to multiple areas of our lives. That big project? Eh, its not due for a week. Dreams? Eh, going to be taking a class to learn how to write in a few months, I’m just relaxing until then.
Procrastination is not the friend of successful people. Many of them had to learn how to either make procrastination work for them or to barrel through it and press on, even with the proverbial sloth demanding you park it on the couch.

8. Naysaying

“It will never work. It is impossible, I just can’t …” That is about when it is time to take a good look at what they’re doing. There are a plethora of people out there that once thought the same thing: they can’t get a man into space, they can’t find a way for a human to fly, they can’t cure a disease. Well, people did what was once considered impossible. If they can defy the entire world, why can’t they defy the internal pessimist and get there? Don’t say that it is impossible. In the world we live in today, it seems like impossible is becoming a word that gets weaker every day.

9. Consuming

Fast food, energy drinks, trash TV–their brain is sobbing at the thought. With all the time spent taking in things that are not good for their brain or body, how can anyone expect it to happily balance out and produce the stuff they need to achieve success? Output should be greater than input; though they don’t have to take the starving artist spiel literally. The point is, production is where the value is, not the absorption.

10. Quitting

“Well, I tried.” Sure, they tried once. That horse is shaking its head and trotting off to find someone who will get back on it. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with cutting losses sometimes. After all, no experience is ever truly wasted, but quitting is the mortal enemy to successful people. If they believe in something, they want to find that success, there is no road map. You may very well have to carve your own path through treacherous jungle. If they give up the first time a mosquito bites, then they’ve doomed themselves already.
Success, in large part, is about the human being in the arena. People cheer for them, their struggle and victory, but the person who watches idly and scoffs, having never tried has also never really lived.

Mindsets are not set in stone. It is never too late to get started and change perspective. After all, achieving success is completely up to them; they are the one making excuses and holding themselves back. Decide when it is time to stand up and get back into that arena.

FOR ASPIRANTS; CUT THE EXCITEMENT AND KNOW THESE THINGS

There I was on the couch watching Chelsea FC take out Leicester city FC, sipping up a banana flavor yogurt and off course, doing what every 21st century human does with technology (gadgets); “chatting on facebook”. I was in such a great mood I decided to have some nice little chat with several aspirants. There was this economics aspirant (am sure she’s reading) who called me and kept telling me how excited she was about her screening coming up. I understood though, she couldn’t help her excitement, perfectly understandable, but I kept wondering if she was equally as prepared as her excitement level seem. So I tried screening her myself. As a prospective economics student that she was I asked her what the major tools for economic analysis were, she kept quiet as I waited, and told me she didn’t know. I was shocked. I was shocked big-time. I asked her what a budget” was and again she didn’t know. I just spent the rest of the day wondering what she thought she was coming to KSU to do. The more I thought I started generalizing, “with all this relative excitement, what do these aspirants think they are coming to KSU to do?”

Let’s get some things perfectly clear, no staff in KSU (academic or non-academic) is going to sit with you during your screening and ask you “what is the name of the v.c” kind off questions and recommend your name for admission based on those kinds of questions. No, it’s not done. So if you are sitting somewhere thinking that’s what you’re going to meet, sorry to disappoint you but that’s most likely not what you’re going to get. So what are you getting excited about, because if you’re all excited like it’s the 25th of December I hope for your sake you’re equally prepared.

Quite simply, it’s a test, which will be conducted orally in an interactive manner. So like the former computer based test, it’s still a test. A quick insight, shall we;
·         The advantage of this format is that questions are most likely going to be based around your course of study unlike before when candidates had to read wide to pass.
·         Come your screening date it won’t matter who you know in and around the institution. The people screening you most likely won’t know or give damn about you.
·         The only key to your success based on the advantage listed first (the test revolves around your course of study) is how prepared you are.

Below, is exactly what you need to do to be fully prepared:

-          Know the basics (very very important): how would you expect to gain admission as a geography aspiring candidate if you don’t know what percentage of the earth is covered by water, or as a math aspiring candidate if you don’t know what regression line analysis means in statistic. There is no course in the institution that does have its basics (like mass communication starting from communication, or sociology being about the environment and so on) which you should have prior knowledge about either through your secondary school or through………..
-          Doing proper research about your course of study: no matter how sound you think you are in the knowledge of your (prospective) course of study you still have to keep researching. Knowledge as they say is never enough, never ending so no matter how much you think you know there’s still a billion other things you don’t know so keep studying and researching until what you know is sufficient to see you through.
-          Dot all I’s and cross all T’s: like I said in the point above, you have to find the loopholes in your knowledge of your course of study fix them in time for your screening. Fact is, it’s just a couple of hours, but it’s the most important “couple of minutes” of your life, for now (except you’re getting ready to marry soon or something) and you have to prepare adequately for it.
-          Work on yourself: your physical appearance, your diction, your style of talking, your mode of talking, your tone of talking, the way you relate and so on. You have to work on these things, make sure they’re in sync. You have to be charismatic enough to face anybody, and speak confidently to sway anybody during your screening. Balance is also very key to, don’t appear too confident, don’t laugh too much, or at least don’t laugh when it absolutely not necessary. Don’t just frown your face like ginger bread. Be yourself but work on yourself.
-          Browse through your secondary school stuffs over and over and over………and over again: yep. Absolutely necessary too. Keep yourself fresh.
-          Know thy God: this does not need much explanation, you know what I mean.

Do all this and yes, you are good to go. Do all this and yes, you are prepared. Cut the excitement now and do these things.

Am out!!!!

JAMB Will Not Postpone The 2016 Admission Deadline - JAMB Boss

Image result for picture of jamb symbol

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday stated that the deadline for the conclusion of admissions into higher institutions for 2016 remains effective.

This was disclosed by the Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, during his address at the opening of an Extra-Ordinary Technical Committee Meeting on 2016 Admissions to First Choice Institutions which was held at the Baze University, Abuja.

He mentioned that some institutions were not able to submit names of their admitted candidates for approval as internal processes leading to the exercise had not been completed.

It was gathered that such institutions have requested for an earlier special date than the date for the Second Technical Committee Meeting scheduled for Nov. 14 in Owerri, Imo State.

According to him, the affected institutions are expected to make presentations of their recommended candidates to the board at the meeting.

The Federal University, Lafia, has terminated the appointment of 35 of its non-teaching staff over the inability of the institution to pay their salaries.

Mohammed Sanusi-Liman, Vice Chancellor of the university, told journalists on Sunday, September 18, in Lafia that the council took the decision due to insufficient funds.

Mr. Sanusi-Liman explained that the affected staff, who were employed by the institution earlier in the year, comprised 11 corps members who were retained after their service year and 24 others.

He said the council had directed the management to source for funds and pay off the affected staff since they had worked for over five months without being paid.

“It would be inhuman to keep the staff working when we cannot pay them giving our poor budget and that is why the council decided that we should pay them off,” he said.

According to him, the university has consistently encountered a shortfall of over N38 million in its allocation for several months, which had adversely affected the running of the institution.

He also confirmed that the management had uncovered a job racketeering syndicate in the university, which had offered illegal employment to some persons.
“When we got wind of the matter, the management set up an investigative committee which turned in a report that was submitted to the council.

“The university council referred the matter to its disciplinary committee for investigation and appropriate action,’’ he said.
On the post UTME screening of candidates for admission into the university for the 2016/2017 academic session, the vice chancellor said that over 4,000 applicants had been screened.

He added that the council would meet to determine its carrying capacity before the admission list would be released.

He also announced that the university council had approved the commencement of its post graduate programmes effective from the 2016/2017 academic session.
