Steps To Memorize Quickly And Not Forget

Steps To Memorize Quickly and not Forget

While most people are strongly against cramming, it is sometimes necessary. While concepts should be studied and understood, sometimes you have to memorize facts, figures and formulas, and that is where the ability to memorize quickly and not forget comes in. The problem is that recalling something requires learning, and we all learn in different ways. Below are some universal steps to mastering the art of recalling so that you can start memorizing a ton of data in a short amount of time.
1. Prepare your Mind
First of you have to remove anything that can clutter your mind, free yourself of worries. Do not begin with liquor or anything that will impair your mind. Choose a place conducive to memorizing, usually a quiet place away from distractions and noise. There are also foods or drinks that help make the mind sharper, you can imbibe such. However, do so sparingly.

2. Recording
Most people especially auditory learners (this are people that learn and retain faster what they hear than others), can take advantage of  a recorder either using your smartphone or some other recording device to make a record of what you want to memorize. listening to yourself speaking will help you retain and remember better.
3. Write Everything Down
Before you start trying to recall everything from memory, write and re-write the information. This will help you become more familiar with what you’re trying to memorize. Doing this while listening to your tape recorder can also help you retain a lot of the data. This is most useful for experiential learners (People that learn through repeated experiences).
4. Section your notes.
Now that you have everything written down in one set of notes, separate them into sections. This is ideal for visual learners(people that learn better and faster through sight) especially if you use color coding to differentiate between subjects. This will help you break everything down and start compartmentalizing the information being recorded in your brain. So use markers or highlighters of different colors. It is quite a fun way to memorize.
5. Apply Repetition
They say practice makes perfect, however, what they mean is repetition makes perfect. For each line of text, repeat it a few times and try to recall it without looking. As you memorize each set of text, be cumulative by adding the new information to what you’ve just learned. This will keep everything within your short-term memory from fading. Keep doing this until you have memorized that section and you are able to recall the entire thing. Do not move on to another section until you have memorized that one completely. If you are recording also replay over and over. Replay, rewind, replay.
6. Write it down from memory
Now that you can recall entire sections, write everything down from memory. This will reinforce everything you just have just learned by applying it experientially. You can also recite what you have been playing from memory. Don’t be discouraged if you do not get it, keep trying.
7. Teach it to someone (or yourself)
The most effective method for me when I was in school was to teach the information to someone else. You can do this in a variety of ways. You can lecture the knowledge to someone sitting right in front of you (or the mirror, if you can’t convince anyone to sit through it) and explain everything extemporaneously. Explaining to someone, engraves the information better in your subconscious and will make it far difficult to forget.
8. Listen to the recordings Always
While doing unrelated tasks like laundry or driving, go over the information again by listening to your tape recordings. This is certainly auditory learning, but it will still supplement everything you’ve shoved into your short-term memory. Even before you go to sleep, you can plug in headphones and continue listening, it is almost the same way we memorize songs.
9. Take a break
Finally, let your mind breathe. Go for a short time without thinking about what you just learned and come back to it later on. You’ll find out what you really know, of course, and this will help you focus on the sections you might be weakest at.

A TEENAGE GIRL WOKE UP DURING HER BRAIN SUGERYAND HAD A CONVERSATION WITH THE SURGEONS !!

A teenage girl woke up during her brain surgery and reportedly asked the surgeons how they were doing

Iga Jasica, a 19 year old girl from Katowice, Poland, is making multinational headlines for the strange phenomenon, which occurred during her brain surgery.

Iga was on the surgical table and the doctors were trying to remove the deadly cancerous growth she had in her skull, when the girl woke up mid-surgery. The surgeons had just opened up her skull in order to remove the cancer, when somehow Iga managed to regain her consciousness. Fortunately, she wasn’t capable of feeling any pain, so she just asked the doctors how they were doing. The surgeons were extremely baffled by this phenomenon and Iga’s bravery during the surgery and they kept talking to the girl – mostly about cats, which she adores. When questioned by the media later, the medics suggested that she might have awoken from the anaesthesia thanks to a neuron in her brain, which must have been triggered during the surgery. They also admitted it was absolutely unusual for a sedated patient to wake up during a surgery, especially when their skull is still open.
When Iga was asked about her own point of view after the surgery, she explained that she couldn’t remember much from it, but that she was feeling great after the procedure.

7 Signs You Need To Drink (Water)

We can’t live without water. It’s critical for proper body and brain function. It enables our blood to flow properly and helps us stay energized.
The good news: "Most people can handle mild amounts of 'dehydration,’” says Dana S. Simpler, MD, an internist in private practice in Baltimore. “The body regulates fluid balance through a number of complex pathways, including reduced urine production, increased reabsorption of water in the intestines and thirst — which prompts rehydration."
Simpler is careful to point out the difference between being low on fluids and clinical dehydration. "Dehydration mainly occurs with illnesses such as fever, diarrhea and vomiting where excessive fluids are lost and not being replaced or in a sport situations/hot weather where excessive perspiration is not being replaced," she explains.
So how much water do you need? And what about that old standby recommendation to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day? “It’s an oversimplification of what the body actually needs,” says Simpler. "There is really no 'optimal' amount of hydration.” The weather, your diet and exercise habits are all a factor in how much water you need. Some days you’ll need more fluids, other days less.
Those fluids can come from virtually any drink and even some foods. Milk, smoothies, and juice drinks count. Caffeinated beverages, such as tea, coffee and energy drinks, count, too. Eating water-containing foods, including tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon and oranges, is also a great way to up your fluid intake.
All things considered, it makes sense to clue in to symptoms that can signal the need for more fluids. Here are seven signs to pay attention to.

#1: You’re thirsty.

It may seem obvious, but a dry mouth and how thirsty you are do correlate to how hydrated you are.

#2: You’re hungover.

Processing alcohol requires water. If you overdid it last night, you need to drink as much as a quart or more water than you usually drink, says Ralph E. Holsworth, DO, an osteopath at Southeast Colorado Hospital in Springfield, CO. Even better, head off dehydration in the first place. “If you’re going to drink alcoholic beverages, try to drink one eight-ounce glass of water for every alcoholic beverage you consume to help reduce your dehydration risk,” he advises.

#3: You’re lightheaded or worn out.

If you feel dizzy, you may be dehydrated. First, stop your activity and rest, says Lisa Katic, RD, a registered dietitian in Washington, DC. Reach for fluids such as water or a sports drink with electrolytes, which replaces both lost fluids and minerals. Drinking should help you feel steadier.

#4: Your urine is extra dark.

Concentrated urine is a clear indicator that you’re dehydrated. It means your urine has more waste in it. (Staying hydrated makes it easier for waste to be flushed out efficiently.) “Ideally, your pee should be pale yellow,” says Holsworth. “If it’s dark yellow, you’re probably not drinking enough.” Katic says the recommendation is to drink six ounces of water within an hour if you notice your urine is darker than normal.

#5: You’re tired.

If you’re just plain pooped, dehydration may be to blame. Our blood and bodily fluids are made up mostly of water, so if you’re extremely dehydrated, your heart has to pump harder to carry blood throughout your body. The result: intense fatigue, says Katic.

#6: You can’t concentrate.

Dehydration can often impair your ability to focus on a certain task. “By hydrating, you’ll do wonders to improve your mental acuity,” Katic says. In fact, even mild dehydration can alter your mood and energy levels, according to two recent studies conducted at the University of Connecticut’s Performance Laboratory.

#7: You’re constipated.

The better hydrated you are, the better you’ll digest your foods, Katic says, explaining that water helps waste move along from your stomach through your intestines. If you’re dehydrated, your stools may be harder, making them more difficult to pass. To prevent constipation, don’t forget to eat plenty of fiber in addition to getting enough fluids.

What's up!!!

What's up peepz of ksu, january is ending, valetine is coming, matric is coming, batch B still not out yet,and kogi state is making history,to be honest I think we are lucky to be in the middle of this historic period. I mean,we have a governor who has no deputy, how ironic right ??
Aniways,we gat ksu news for y'all, foremost, the registration  portal for returning student has been enabled meaning returning students can now proceed with registration.
Also, the change of course list is out in the senate building for those whom it may concern.
Finally, aspirants who are still waiting for admission should constantly check their names in the batch A incase of updates.
Meanwhile,we have this amazing piece for ksu students on examination malpractice, check it out:
My Advice To Students On Examination Malpractices
So,basically,I know am meant to define examination malpractice for y'all but you know perfectly what it is so am just gonna cut to the chase here.
Malpractice is a bad thing, its really bad cause it means while other students are in the same exam hall with you trying to figure out answers to the same question as you,you are busy with the intention of "cheating". Exam cheating is criminal, its sinful as anything that includes cheating in it isn't accepted by any culture all over the world and even God himself in his glory detest cheating.
The thing with most students who become exam cheats is they see it as a normal thing. They most definietly know its not a good thing but they don't see it as an extremely bad habit, owning to the fact that students in nigeria cheat at every level of education in modern times, the primary school level, the secondary school level and in universities. The true fact about cheating is its extremely bad, that's why the consequence for cheating in all universities in nigeria, and most definitely in kogi state university is direct expulsion, there is no two ways about that.
I understand the fact that student are always under immese pressure to succeed academically, the thing about pressure though is that it can either be supressed or increased depending on your actions towards tackling this pressure. You want to pass a course by fire by force and you haven't been attending lecturers or studying and you think what will save you is expo's and exhibits, not only are you putting yourself under more pressure you are also putting yourself at risk of getting caught and getting expelled. You might escape getting caught but you have just damaged yourself psychologically as you now think you can't pass wthout cheating.
To be honest, there is really no point cheating, because there is no point cheating to pass courses and having no idea what that course is about because you didn't study, then there is no point schooling atall if you can't fulfill the main purpose of you been in school which is learning and studying to build yourself into someone you will be proud of,your parents will be proud of,ksu will be proud of and nigeria as a whole will be proud of. You think your first class certificate is what companies out there need to further develop, then why are people who didn't even go to school succeeding in  life ?? Its your output that's needed. Those big companies need your big brain, and what's been stored in it,meaning you have to learn in school,at the end of the day you can only give what you have. Books and lectures aren't easy, some books are even harder to understand, but the thing about all learning processes is when you devote yourself to it,you'll understand. Start studying harder now, that's the only way. Don't rely on cheating, you are only killing yourself when you cheat.

Am out,have a lovely thursday !!!

Believer's joint: Read this lady's pathectic story

Virgin Till Marriage (VTM) Reorientation: ”Don’t Wake Up Love Before
Time”
crying-2
I thought I had waited enough, so when it
was time to go for my NYSC, I made up my
mind to date any cute guy that comes my
way, afterall I was mature and ripe for marriage. Though I never believed in dating,
but so many things just appeared to be
wrong with my life, even when they were not.
I had been a virgin since birth, never dated,
this was due to what my mum taught me. Her words, ”never wake up love whenit is
not time, and when it is time, don’t fall for it,
stand with your eyes open, then walk into
it.” I bounded those words to my heart all
through my university days, but as soon as it
was time for my NYSC, I felt they should be thrown away as trash.
I was now a big girl, who should be
approached for marriage. My new believe
was that, if a lady does not get her man on
camp, then she is likely going to settle a
single lady, or with any kind of man outside her desires. I was losing my faith and trust in
God, which had led me thus far, I was now
following the way of the world.
Just three days at the camp, he came to tell
me he was interested in me. His words, ”I
love the way you carry yourself, your Christianity, and simplicity. You will surely be
a wonderful wife to your husband when you
get married. So who is the lucky guy, I mean
your fiance?”
His question threw me off balance that I
didn’t know when I told him I was still single and available. Foolish me, was I supposed to
advertize my singleness and availability to a
man whom God has not revealed anything
about me to? He only admired my beauty,
liked my character and simplicity, not that he
heard from God that I was the lady for him. But I have already revealed to him howdesperate I was towards having a man in my
life.
Anything done outside the leading of the
spirit, is indeed carnal. He was handsome and
intelligent, but still he was not the right man. Did I care? Did I even seek the face of God
concerning him? I do hear from God quite
alright, but I was desperate to have a ”Him”
by my side.
When he heard my reply about being single
and available, that day he began his chase after me. Like a He-goat, he kept coming, and
like a She-goat on heat period, I gave him a
try. The door of my heart opened, and then
we began dating. My emotions and feelings
clouded my spiritual eyes and ear, that all I
see in my dreams was his image and his voice. On one ocassion, I saw both of us
purchasing wedding gown and other wedding
items. All that made me to believe I was
already in the will of God concerning a life
partner.
So my feelings and love for him increased, I was now visiting uncontrollably, and was hanging out with him. Hmm, the devil must
have said, ”the ‘all her life virgin’ has found a
lover, let’s see how she will control herself.”
Was it easy? Could my legs still be crossed? I
was losing my mind, and the urge for sex
would not spare me. Day by day, this urge increased, it was burning like fire. I wish
water could quench it… No way, it wasbeyond a physical fire.
Then that night came, the night of becoming
one flesh. It was his saliva into my saliva, his
body into my body, and his blood into my blood. I was deflowered, my twenty-six
years of virginity gone in five minutes. Did I
plan to break it that way? Without walking
down the aisle? I was ashamed of myself,
naked before a man who has not visited my
parents, let alone pay my dowry. ”Is this me?” I asked myself. ”What went wrong?”
Uncontrolled tears quietly escaped from my
eyes.
When he stool up to dress up, a shining object
mistakenly left the pocket of his trouser, and
made its way to the ground. When I glanced at it, I was shocked to discover the obvious,
it was his wedding ring. ”Are you married?” I
quickly asked. He didn’t say a word, he only
nodded, thereafter, he appologized and left
the room as if nothing happened.
Picking up my dress was something I found difficult to do, until I heard a voice, ”Come de
go make I arrrange my room,” the voice of
the owner of the room whom he paid just to
exploit me. Hmm, my dignity was buried
alive. Before the stranger, I dressed up, still
thinking he was outside, I came out, but he was no where to be found. Since I left camp, I
have never set my eyes on him, who even
know if he was a true corper.
All my dreams and revelations were mere
imaginations. I threw away my mother’s
advice and the grace of God that kept me all through my campus years only to get all that,
now in tears I’m picking them up after the
mistake has been made….
Dear corper and readers, are you also goingto make such mistake? The grace of God and
the godly counsel that has kept you going, will you treat them like trash, even at this
point of your youth service? Many sisters and
brothers get defiled at camp, they lost their
self control immediately they see someone
who is likely to be their life partner.
Why will it be said that it was during your NYSC you got defiled? You whose orientation
is begining to change simply because you
enter a new environment, watch yourself
very well. You mustn’t meet your life
partner at the camp or in a new
environment. If you do, pray down the will of God concerning it, before accepting the
proposal. You mustn’t date to know him/her
better, if you do, your emotions and feelings
towards them are likely to cloud your mind,
and this will make it difficult for you to hear
from God. God still speaks to us, He is ever interested
and more interested in our marriage than we
are or think. Put Him first, and you will be
glad you did.

5 MEALS EVERY KSU UNDERGRADUATE MUST BE ABLE TO PREPARE

As Ksu undergraduates, and i am basing this on my personal experience, food is a major part of our lives, what to eat is a question we wake up and sleep with. Away from home and mother’s food, most of us learn to cook while in school, experimenting daringly every day. The thing about ayingba is if you don't eat poperly, the sun will kill you,if you manage to survive the sun will, the everyday trecking will kill you,or the stress,or those evil things called atm machines, and so many other things And whether you are an expert cook or not, male or female, the meals i have listed are a must.
1. Indomie Instant Noodles
As popular as Coca Cola, Indomie Noodles leads the pack in instant noodles production. Every student should be able to throw together a plate of edible noodles. With or without eggs, sardines or other condiments. Anyone can eat noodles raw,but as a student you must master the art of cooking properly, to impress visitors and keep you alive, especially during the examinations.

2. Egusi Soup
It is quite easy to prepare and relatively cheap. This qualities make Egusi soup the friend of every student. If you do not know how to prepare proper Egusi soup, you might need tutorials from home or friends. A pot every other weekend will reduce your time spent deciding what to eat, all you have to do is prepare ‘eba’ and you are home free.

3. Jollof Rice
Now this is a Nigerian staple, and the beauty of jollof rice, is that no one has a monopoly of what it should look or taste like. There are a million and one ways to prepare jollof rice, and all you need as a student is one or two, either with fresh tomatoes or canned ones. And you can prepare with meat, fish or nothing at all. It is relatively cheap and will impress your visitors.

4. Beans
Well, this is not everyone’s favorite, you cant deny it comes in handy. One of the reasons every student should know how to prepare beans is that it can be eaten with other things, pap, custard, bread, garri, to mention but a few. And if your budget is limited, all it takes is palm oil, onions, salt and a little crayfish. One disadvantage is that it takes a while and might deplete your kerosene or gas supply. It is however perfect when you have visitors you do not want to feed.

5. Stew

This is for Sundays. Stews are quite versatile. You can prepare chicken stew, fish stew, beef stew, or just stew. And then fresh or canned tomatoes, just add spices to taste and you are ready. And once you have a pot of stew, all you have to do is to decide between white rice, yam or even bread each day.5 Meals Every Nigerian Undergraduate Must Be Able To Prepare

Ways To Fight Distractions In School

5 Ways To Fight Distractions in School

 Wikipedia describes Distraction, thus:
Distraction is the process of diverting the attention of an individual or group from the desired area of focus and thereby blocking or diminishing the reception of desired information. Distraction is caused by: the lack of ability to pay attention; lack of interest in the object of attention; or the great intensity, novelty or attractiveness of something other than the object of attention. Distractions come from both external sources, and internal sources.
We all know without doubt that it’s easy to get distracted – especially when you’re juggling a lot of projects. The secret to staying productive is recognizing the moments of distraction and immediately getting back on track.
There’s always an email to read, a text message to send, a Facebook stream to read, etc.
You see, there are distractions all around us – and there are plenty of excuses on why we’re not finishing up a project that has been sitting on our “to do” list. So how can we fight distractions.
1. Determination
Being determined goes a long way to help. Someone who has set his sights on a particular goal and is determined to fight off distractions to reach that goal, is more likely to be successful, than someone who has no determination and is willing to let himself be pushed in any direction at all.
2. Know the source
What keeps you distracted? Keep a list of items that trigger distractions for you (e.g. clicking a web browser, visiting Linda Ikeji, reading email, Facebook, Twitter etc.). Keep this list top of mind so you recognize the trigger that is leading you to distraction. Identifying distractions is key to stopping them.
3. Blur out Everything else
Once you know what distracts you,  it’s time to get hyper-focused to accomplish your projects. For me, this means putting on ear phones and listening to sounds of the ocean or rain (to block out all external noises). Second, it means turning facebook off and closing down all windows except for the one program or window I need. Third, it means putting my phone in a drawer so that I don’t see any text messages or know that anyone is calling. The only way to get in the zone to accomplish your goals is to zone out everything else.
4. Set daily goals for yourself.
If you want to stay focused on your projects, you need to set goals for yourself with specific time-frames. Not setting specific goals within a certain time-frame is the reason why we end up with items on our “to do” list that we never accomplish. And not having concrete goals makes it easier to get distracted. So set your goals – and accomplish them. No excuses.

5. Recognize the moments you get distracted and get back on task.
Look, you’re going to get distracted no matter how hard you try to stay on task – especially if you are at home or school. Your phone can ring, friends, colleagues or neighbours can drop by, etc. Even while writing this article, my attention was diverted by a BBM message  that looked interesting enough to start reading it. Within 15 seconds of reading it, I realized the distraction and got back to this article. The key is recognizing the distraction and getting back to work.

Lassa fever; All you need to know

The evil rats don come again ooo. After we survived ebola in 2014,they brought another one called lassa fever. This is all you need to know about this deadly virus:
CAUSE
Lassa Fever is caused by a virus called Lassa Virus. The virus belongs to a group of viruses which cause hemorrhagic fevers such dengue fever, ebola fever, yellow fever etc. The virus is also characterised by bleeding disorders and can progress to shock and death in many cases.
HOW IT SPREADS
Rats.
Lassa fever lives and multiplies in a particular type of rat called the Natal multimammate mouse which is found in sub-Saharan Africa.
The virus is contained in the urine and stool of rats. If the urine of the rats contaminates exposed food and humans the food, they can contract the disease. Breathing in the dried stool can also lead to being infected.
The virus spreads from person to person through direct contact with body fluids-saliva, nasal discharge, blood of infected persons etc.
THE SYMPTOMS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
Lassa Fever’s symptoms can be very tricky. It is usually similar to malaria and typhoid fever. These are some of the symptoms a victim experiences
• Fever
• Headache
• Sometimes vomiting and diarrhoea
• Yellowness of the eye balls.
• As the disease progresses, some organs may fail
• Bleeding may occur into the skin or/and from gums, nose, into the eyes.
COMPLICATIONS
• Deafness.
• Abortion
• Organ failure.
• About 1% of all infections end up in death.
HOW TO PREVENT LASSA FEVER
Avoid Rats. Avoid contact with them, cover your food so they don’t come in contact with them. Do not eat rats
Isolate infected persons. And use of masks, gloves, gowns, goggles etc when attending to infected persons.
Keep a clean house and environment.
TREATMENT
All persons suspected of Lassa fever infection should be admitted to isolation facilities and their body fluids and excreta properly disposed of. Early supportive care with rehydration and symptomatic treatment improves survival.

What's up !!!

Hello people of ksu,the land of sun sand, its a subtle wenesday afternoon on this part of town, and on what's up today we bring you the issues and happenings around ksu.
Screening is still on,a lot of screening in and screening out,no maths no english no  this no that, change of course change of faculty,a lot of things going down with the fresh students and their credentials, wishing y'all the best though...
Final year balloting for hostels continue today(from yesterday),and the hostel balloting for fresh students is sheduled to hold on saturday(bring your school fees teller and admission letter with you).
Am not quite sure why they postponed the balloting thingy to this week,am thinking its because they want to release another admission list, but ksu act "coco" at times, they might decide to release another list and term it "BATCH B", or just add names to the batch A that's already on the portal. in any case, aspirants should be on the look out, just keep checking the portal this week.
Meanwhile, returning students have some few questions to ask the school, like:
* what's up with the results
* what's up with the natural science guys and their exams
* why the hell will they create a link for registration steps on the portal when their's no link for the actual registration.
My take,Ksu really needs to step up from their secondary school level and become an actual university, and also the v.c should start resolving issues rather than forming buhari up and down.
 Meanwhile other v.cs of actual universities have been working,as ;
* FUTMINNA,last friday withdraws a whooping 460 students(what!!!) for poor academic performance,as they served letter of withdrawal for this students who were said to be 100 level students that had below the 1.5 grade point stipulated by NUC for students to move on to the next level, and virtually all the faculties were affected.....four hundred and sixty !!! WTF !!!....what happend to those guys...did they all leave their brains athome or what ??
* UNICAL also followed suit, they expelled 9 students and suspended four more for examination misconduct....chai...
- UNIJOS by the way are still battling with their journey of no return strike, good news though,as the minister for youth and sport has intervened, and both the UNIJOS ASUU members and students alike have high hopes that the intervention by the minister will finally bring the strike to an end.
That's all for now...am out !!!

Sex and relationship: Small Things You Can Do To Make A Big Difference In Your Relationship

Successful relationships don’t just come together haphazardly. They take effort from both people involved to continue building upon the foundation on which the relationship began. Too often, life gets in the way, and many of the little things fall through the cracks. Because of this, it’s important to remember that a relationship should be one of the most meaningful aspects of a person’s life, and it’s worth every ounce of energy you put into it.
Here are a few small things that can make a big difference in your relationship.

1. Give long embraces

Emo band Saves the Day once said “nothing’s like being held sometimes.” While I’d advise you to take caution when taking advice from an emo band, you should definitely hold onto this one. After a long day’s work, there really isn’t much better than spending a few minutes wrapped in each other’s arms. It allows you to forget the outside world, if only for a few moments, and remember why you both work so hard in the first place.

2. Leave little reminders around for them to find

I don’t think there’s much else that makes me smile more than seeing a little note from my wife attached to my windshield when getting in my car in the morning. The little things that let your significant other know that you’re thinking of them can completely turn their day around. Even texting a picture of something that reminded you of them is enough. Everyone loves to feel important; show the person you love the most just how important they are every chance you get.

3. Show gratitude for everything they do for you

You undoubtedly appreciate your significant other very much. But do you show it all the time? Don’t just show your thankfulness around birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Make it a point to thank them every day for even the tiniest of favors. Whenever they do something for you, they’re allowing you to relax just a little longer. Thank them for it. It shows you don’t take them for granted, and you acknowledge just how much they mean to you.

4. Make their life easier whenever you can

On the flip side of the last point, you should do everything you can to make their life easier. Even if that means stopping at the store at the end of a long day or running back out if they forgot to grab something. Clean the house or have dinner ready on the table when they get home. Keep in mind everything they’ve given you, tangible and intangible, as a reminder for when you don’t “feel like” doing something, and do it anyway, knowing it will ease their troubles a little more.

5. Take a break from busyness for them

We all lead busy lives. But you should never be so busy that you don’t have time to spend with your significant other. Otherwise, what’s the point of working so hard? I’m not saying you should completely blow off your responsibilities to spend time with your significant other, but definitely recognize when you’ve spent way too much time on work-related obligations and hit the pause button. Sometimes, you just need to put everything else on the back burner and enjoy some quality time with your love.

6. Tell them why you love them

You probably tell one another you love each other all the time. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with that. But take it a step further: tell them whyyou love them. Make them understand exactly what it is that keeps you tied to them. Put some thought into it, too. You’ll likely end up finding even more reasons to love them than you had realized in the first place.

Quotes and lessons

Confucius Say: “Study the past if you would define the future.”
Why not study the strategies of those men in history who were the most successful of anyone on earth:
..The ones with the greatest architectural feats.
..The greatest political influence and the greatest spiritual influence.
..The ones with the greatest fortunes. They must have known something nobody else did.. what was it?

Statements That Deceive Students

5 Statements That Deceive Students
The power of the spoken word can not be over emphasized. Words have the power to uplift and destroy, which is why you should be careful as a student of the statements you listen to and take to heart.
Some students are defeatists, either by choice or due to circumstances in their lives, however a positive and optimistic attitude is a great asset to the successful person. Below are some statements you might hear and why you should not be deceived by them.
1. NO ONE GETS AN A IN THIS COURSE
Most students throw this statement around, usually from the very beginning of the semester. Already they are defeated even before the lecturer introduces the course, because they have reportedly heard from lazy students who have taken the course before. Do not let yourself be deceived, there is no course that cannot be aced. So throw away such statements and get to work.
2. A GOOD GRADE DOES NOT MATTER
While it is true that what you graduate with in the university does not determine the life you will live, do not be deceived that it does not matter at all. Usually those that say this are too lazy to apply themselves diligently to study and get good grades. You can determine, your grades by yourself, therefore it depends on you and the amount of work you put in.
3. YOU MUST BRIBE YOUR WAY THROUGH SCHOOL
Granted corruption is rampant in Nigerian universities, with many lecturers collecting bribes to upgrade grades and scores. However, there are still students who graduate, with good grades, without paying a dime as bribe. Therefore, do not be deceived by such a statement, as long as you do very well in what is expected of you, it is highly unlikely that anyone will hold you back because of bribes not paid.
 4. YOU CANNOT MIX SCHOOL WITH OTHER ACTIVITIES
While school work and heavy course loads, can eat up most of your time, do not be deceived into believing that other aspects of your life must be put on hold once you are in the university or college. You can mix other profitable activities, as long as you learn how to create a balance. Several students successfully run businesses side by side with school. Never limit yourself.
5. IF YOU DON’T HAVE A 2’1 YOU CAN NOT GET A GOOD JOB
This is another lie. Like i said above, hard work pays off and good grades matter. Yet, they do not determine your life. So if despite your best efforts, you do not see yourself graduating with great grades, keep your head up, most students go on to be successful in  life, even with poor grades.

What's up !!

What's up ma ksu realers, monday don show again o,its a new week, and for aspirants who are still waiting for admission,I hope this week brings something....
Straight to business,we serve you with whats going on in school plus an amazing write up for y'all about carryovers(excited yet),let's roll in:
-The ksu 2015/2016 balloting thingy for hostel accomodation didn't hold on saturday(that's definately the right call),it has been postponed to this week and scheduled to hold on.........wait for it....wait for it...its scheduled to hold on...we don't know yet, when we get a date we'll update you...
Meanwhile,here's our piece on why you must avoid carry overs and how you can avoid it;
Why You Must Do Everything To Avoid Carryovers.
Carry overs in the university system is normal,it basically means a student has an unfinished business. A student can only carry over a course when he or she scores 39 downward in both C.A and exam(over 100). Carry overs is not in all casses a real reflection of how intelligent or not intelligent a student is,rather its a reflection of how unserious, unsmart(if that word exist),unchecked and unintrested a student is. I have seen highjly intelligent students have numerous carry overs and relatively dull students pass through without carry overs, such is life, that's why a coin is two sided.Carry over can also be a result of unfortunate and unlucky incidents, such as missing scripts, lecturer attitude towards marking your script,or even a student's handwritten(that's right).
I have once been a victim of an unlucky situation. I was not around kogi state when an assignment worth 20 marks was been submitted, when i heard about it I quickly rushed back to school from Lagos to get mine submitted. Unlucky for me the lecturer in charge of the course is very strict and sent me out of his office. I thought to myself,"I still have 80 marks to fight for so why panic". This lecturer is the kind that barely comes  to class, but he gave us a material to read ahead of his exam. For most part of monday evenings we'll wait in class expecting him to come to class but he never does. On the day I  decided I wasn't going to wait in class for him,he showed up in class and seeing how scanty the class was he decided to conduct  test with the little ones in class. The test was for 20 marks and I missed it,making it 40 mrks missed already which ruled me out of contention to score an A. Words can't describe how devastated I was during this period,my worst fear of carrying over a course is lurking around me. I tried bottling my sadness and fear until the lecturer announced that marks will deducted for every undoted Is and uncrossed Ts in his exam,he was basically asking for a perfectly written error free exam which looked impossible under the sort of pressure we  were in. I prayed to God about the situation, focused a little bit more on that course than the others, did a whole lot of library work and research and when the exam came around I completely smashed it,narrowly escaping a carry over(which many of my mates had) that would have completely changed the dynamics of my academics. Am still grateful to God till today, who know what it might have been....
Reasons why you must completely avoid carry overs:
-It brings you down;
A) Academically: having carry over means you have a F(0) in that course. Its bad,its really bad. Having an E(2) or a D(4) is far far better than having a carryover. It means you just scored 0 after studying a course for a semester and it will definately reflect on your result.
B) Psychologically: having a carry over affects the psyche of a student. Its that evil. You don't feel whole again, you won't feel yourself among your peers anymore, you'll feel devastated, less intelligent, less smart and so on. Carry overs inflict serious psychological damage on the bearer. It brings your thinking and psyche to the lowest minimum...
C) Physically: keeping tabs with your main courses is physically tasking enough, add carry overs to that and you'll barely sleep at night. You have to meet up with the time table of your main courses, then meet up with the schedule of your carry over courses, that's so physically demanding, its almost like punishment.
-Its hard to recover: even though its technically possible to recover from the evils of carry overs and get your academics back on track, its extremely difficult and take so much determination and hardwork.
-The odds aren't favourable: the odds of you graduating with a great result or a good result shifts everytime you carry over a course. Imagine doing a carry over course in place of an easy to pass elective course...
-It leads to self esteem issues: when you are writting a carry over paper with guys that are below you,its a hard hit on your esteem and confidence level. You certainly won't be the most confident person on campus, infact you'll be the least confident,if you're not then its either you're shameless, dellusional, dull or completely out of touch.
-Its a bad experience all together: the demanding schedule, the insult by lecturers, the embarrasment of writting a carry over exam with your "juniors"...its a bad experience all together.
How To Avoid A Carry Over:
-Never joke with your C.A
-Always be around class and get adequately informed
-Serious studying: studying isn't every one's bread ad butter, not every one enjoys reading and reading, its not sweet atall, but you gats to do it. That's the way. Use the iibrary to research helpful information as much as you can.
-Do your calculations: your g.p and stuffs
-Always add to what you know
-Always do he conventional first: do what's required of you in  test or an exam first, then spice it up with the result of your researchs after to the lecturers delight.
-Be strong physically and psychologically: in ksu only the strong will survive
-Use your time and work with schedule
And finally and most importantly...
-Know your God...
Am out!!!!!

Believer's joint: Change your ways.

Its not funny so you might not like it..but it will help us all.. Take time to digest this...pls...I just received this powerful exhortation, please read n pass it on. A Generation of Young Christians.
1. We are always right and we never accept correction..A corrector is seen as an enemy
 2. We love to sing in church, but do not read our bibles at home
3. We are full of lust, sensuality and emotions and we call it love
4. we want to have wonderful marriages, but by the time we are 25years we've spent almost ten years in relationships already. Sometimes we may have had more boy lovers and girl lovers than even our parents.
 5. Sexual activities are now part of our relationships calling it romance
6. we want to be rich in life, meanwhile we spent all our finances on the latest ipads, iphone, galaxies, htcs, laptops, cameras etc which in many cases we use less than 30% of their functions
7. We do not pay our tithes and offerings claiming we are students
 8. We say we are christian women but dress like hollywood stars and we call it fashion
9. We love pleasures rather than God
 10. In church you will see us with our hands lifted up singing slo  w songs which we call worship but on our phones in our pockets, you will see pics of naked and half naked women, hip hop, hip life and we have a nice way of justifying it.
 11. We are hardly convicted when we go to church because our hearts have been hardened by the deceitfulness of sin and pride...etc etc etc
But God forsaw this and warned us in 2Tim. 3...That in the last days men and women will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. We need to change our ways, we have no excuse on judgement day, Repent.

The realness of fifa 16

FIFA16 IS SO REAL THAT
 - Nigeria Players Dance Etigi After Scoring
- No matter the formation you use for chelsea, it wil automatically change back to 9-0-1
- If you play any final with Robben in your team, you're sure getting a silver medal.
 - all you need do when using Spain or Barca is Press Pass.. They do the rest
 - That Ibrahimovic's nose keeps him offside
- Chelsea allows you to sign the manager that will replace you after you're sacked!
 - No matter what you do, you can never score using Mikel - Rooney ALWAYS scores against Arsenal... Even if a rookie handles Man Utd
- Paul Scholes starts leaving The field before the ref issues the card (Lol)
 - Whenever you use Man Utd against Arsenal, Man Utd always win even if you are using U21 or reserve team
- if you use Spain, and attempt to shoot outside 16 yards.. It doesn't work
- Drogba scores every time at Wembley [Auto]
- No matter how good you are whenever you play Man Utd and Howard Webb is the ref you can never win - That one na lie
 - if you win champions league using Arsenal, a message will come up writing "what a joke"
 - The "Pass" button becomes ineffective when Sturridge is on the ball
- Messi doesn't score against Chelsea
- if you win the EPL title with Liverpool the screen will automatically change to black and white.

How to recognize a serious University student

All that glitters is not gold. Similarly, a popular Igbo proverb says that because all lizards lie on their stomach, you will never know the one(s) that have running stomach. I wonder if lizards do have running stomach but that’s just by the way. What’s my point? OK. There are so many students in schools but then, there are students and there are students… It could also be hard as well as confusing to identify those who are really qualified to bear honorable status of student i.e. those who are really the serious and those who aren’t. What spurred me into this direction? Just the other day, I was chatting with a very worried parent whose child seem to be unable to graduate from the university 3 years after the normal duration of his 5 year course. I was alarmed because I immediately knew why this parent was going through…for the past three years, maybe. I really felt for him because his worriment really showed. How could I tell him that shitty things like that can happen…? I mean, how can I tell him that it was partly his fault that things are the way they are now simply because he rather left it too late with regards to checking up on his boy’s academic progress up until now…? How can I tell him that there is thing called “carry- over” which is course/s that his boy must have failed and must pass before he can graduate…? But… When he said that he is even more confused now than ever because he is tired of hearing different version of the almost impossible mumbo-jumbos his boy was regularly spitting out, I knew I just had to tell him. That was because I sensed it from something he said and from the way he unknowingly hinted me that he now suspects his boy was an unserious student. In case you are in the same boat like this parent, or maybe you really want to rate your wards, or your friends and/or even yourself to know if s/he is a serious student or not or to know how serious you are with your academics, I will try to help you do so by presenting you with some of these pointers with which you can base your serious-student evaluation upon. This is how. A serious student… Knows his/her Grade Point Average (GPA) I don’t know any other better method than this with which to instantly identify a serious student. In fact, I think it is the fastest way to identify a serious student on the spot! Your GPA is the standard used in ranking and rating students’ performance in college so any serious student is supposed to be aware of this very important score. Granted, it is not always possible for many students to know the exact figure but then when you come across any student who does not even have any slightest idea what his or her own GPA figure is, like this sophomore student that even asked me “what is GP?”, take it from me, you are looking at a confirmed unserious student. So do you know your GPA? You see? Knows the nature of the question of any upcoming examination(s) This is so true because any serious students must have done his or her assignment thoroughly and must have mastered all the “tricks” which the lecturer or examiner is going to adopt in the exams proper. A serious student knows that the exam questions are not going to be very much different from those of the assignments and past question papers and as such s/he have familiarized as well as prepared himself very well with them so well for the sake of what lies ahead. S/he is never taken unawares because s/he is always prepared. In fact, the real serious students are known to be able to complete ALL their major school work one or two month’s ahead before the examination timetable comes out! This is one of the reasons why some very sharp students who don’t see
m to be reading (that much) still stay tops in the class at the end of the day! But if you come across any fidgeting student who is confused and sometimes completely lost (most especially on the exam day just some few hours before the exams start), simply because s/he does not have any inkling what the exam questions may look like, my two cents, s/he is a very very unserious student. S/he has failed to plan by preparing early enough and as such has failed already unless “help” in the form of exam malpractice comes from “somewhere”… One other thing, a serious student usually has an idea of his examination score even before the papers are marked once he is through with that very paper. I can almost hear you say, “…and so does the unserious student too!” but then I know you know what I am talking about. Knows where to get help. A serious student knows where to get help. The help I am about here is not “expo” or “runs” which is just the slang terms used for examination malpractice in Nigeria.S/he has no need for such distracting things. S/he knows that there’s dignity in labor and so s/he will always strive to achieve excellence through honest labor. Most times, you see some students complaining that they don’t know what to read or where to get the reading materials they think they need. The serious students don’t usually fall into this group. And that’s because they already know how, when and where they can get easily help. They know when the textbooks they need is available in the library. They know the willing students and/or lecturers who might be kind enough to give them such materials should the need arise. They know how to make use of the internet to solidify their knowledge in a particular subject rather than wait for the lecturer to carry the whole class usually at his ‘slow’ pace. Encourages others to succeed. This is usually because any serious student knows that there is no pride in mediocrity. You may be tempted to think that being the best amongst many who don’t know anything is good but is it? There is no challenge. There is no zeal or need to keeppushing yourself up to the limit. There is nothing to stimulate the brain. No way to measure how good you are getting. Simply put, there is no fun in studying anymore. So to avoid this, a serious student will have no other choice than to encourage others to succeed. S/he normally does this either by organizing tutorials or discussion class for a group of people or even the whole class. He will also tell those students who are seeking in truth where to get help. This will help him kill two birds with one stone. First other students will succeed and they will have no other choice than to attribute this success to him. Secondly, he will have his real reason to be on his toes, up and doing, knowing now that backsliding is not an option. Besides, by teaching others, s/he is able to learn more. I have heard many students who are often times complaining that the serious/intelligent students will not easily want to disclose the information on how to get through to others because s/he normally wants to succeed alone. Inasmuch as I will not want to deny the possibility of selfishness that could sometimes arise, I still know that such students complaining may just be doing so for the sake of excuse. They might not have even tried enough to get this help from the serious ones. I have this to say to them. Why are you complaining? Aren’t both of you students or are some students more equal than the others now? See my friend, stop complaining. Stop waiting for that intelligent student to come to you and help you out because most likely, it won’t happen. S/he is not in school because of you. If you need help, go out and seek it. Get off that high horse of yours right now and put on the toga of humility and grab the all help you need from him now that you still have the time… Knows the full details of “what’s next?” Many students don’t have any idea why they are in school. Some think it is just normal to be in school while many others think they are doing their parents some form of favor just by doing that. Many others have come to the conclusion that going to school equates to getting a good paying job in the end. Yes. I don’t know why you are in school but one good advice I always give to people is to always try as much as possible to identify the reason/s why they are in school or why they want to go to school in the case of those who are still seeking admission. By doing this simple check and evaluation, one can easily put him or herself in the path of becoming a serious student by putting everything in perspective in less than a minute! This single action will also expose any student who really wants to succeed in life (after school) to that very open secret that school is not all about academics alone. It will also enable him to realize that really “all work without play makes ….” Never takes pride in missing lectures. When he misses his lectures, he normally feels like he has let him down. She knows the importance of lectures. He knows that some tricky lecturers normally base their examination questions on what they said in class more than what you copied down in your notes or what you can find in the textbooks. Quite unlike his opposite who even rejoices with the news that lectures have been postponed or won’t even hold at all, a serious student never takes pride in missing lectures. Using Nigerian case as a very good example, school systems and academic calendar are normally haphazard or disorganized because of frequent disruptions mostly from labor strikes. The unserious student is usually looking forward to such strikes so as to ‘relax’ his brain. Please don’t make me laugh, okay…? But these strike normally cause the school academic duration to be much reduced such that courses that should have ran for three months or more are rushed through in two or three weeks! Lecturers may have to adjust by telling students not to cover the whole study area they would have normally covered had it been there was still time… Hooray! says the unserious student! This may cause many exams to clash with many students having to write more papers than they could normally handle. And sometimes to ease things off, such papers could be postponed. Another pleasing news to the ears of the unserious student who doesn’t even know or care that useful time is being wasted. But all these bother the serious ones. And that’s because s/ he knows that s/he is the one at the loosing end! So with all these aforementioned, do you now know how to recognize an unserious student? Or better still, are you a serious student?

Ksu boys and girls palava; "We collect d*ck for subscription,so what's bad"

I was in a light argument with some of my friends about girls, guys, money and sex in our school, ksu ofcourse,we argued and stated our opinions all through,a friend of mine said ksu girls are driven by blind love up and down, that all of them just "won get boyfriend"...we laughed about it,then I said its not fair to say that only happens in kogi state university, that girls in othe schools even do more than that self...one of my other friend said the rate at which the girls do it ksu is alarming, and "na dem go church pass ooo"...we chuckled about that...I said "atleast na just date me I date, mumu mumu relationships, its not asif the rate at which students have sex is high like that"...that my friend that accused ksu girls of blind love sharply disagreed with me saying"iffa hear,na only here for ksu I see say girls dey sleep, wake up inside sex"....then my friend on my far left, her name I'll like to keep anonymous said "so,why una dey talk am like say sex na bad thing"...that my friend who disagreed with me shaparly disagreed again saying "we are not saying sex and dating is a bad thing but the way ksu gals do this things for the blind love of money is just not good enough, most of this girls will put their bodies on the line cos' of money for sub, seriously ??"...we were still laughing when that girl to my far left said "its not bad,so,so,what if we collect d*ck for sub, what if we ride our boyfriend's d*ck for money, what's bad dere, una go just dey talk dey form holy holy for here like say na jesus born una(lol).." I don't think what each of us said after the sub issue should be written here(its sooooo explicit, girl thing),but I think you get the gist now, which side are you on. Well it doesn't matter what you think its good or bad, cause at the end of the day what we call good might be bad and what we criticize as bad might be good...just live your life the way think its best to live your life.

Quotes and lesson

“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.” –Albert Einstein.
The life you live in is game, and like any game its guided by rules. You have to learn this rules and maximize them to your own benefit, better than anyone else.

Higly strange disease

2 strangest diseases Guinea Worm – This disgusting disease is more common than you think. One can contract this parasite by drinking dirty water, which may contain the baby worm. Once the worm finds itself in your body, it can live for almost a year in your digestive track. Guinea worm then travels to your limbs, where it usually creates a big blister and bursts out. hmm....ksu people and meruwa water, beware oooo

Quote and lesoon

“If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs.” – Dhirubhai Ambani.
Its one thing to dream, its another to build a dream. To dream takes thought and a couple of seconds and minutes,to build it takes years and effort. Its better you start building your dream now,so you won't end up building someone else's dream in the future.

WHY YOU MUST NOT PLAY WITH YOUR FIRST YEAR IN THE SCHOOL
If the foundation of a building is weak, that building is bound to collapse. I just thought of telling you this now before its too late becuse you're already in the academinc race. Your first yr performance determine the kind of result you may graduate with. University grades are expressed in the following term;
First class (1)
 Second class upper (2one)
Second class lower(2two)
3rd class Certificate of attendance White paper The afore mention grades are attainable by students depending on individual aspiration. Dont let anybody decieve you that you cant make first class. Many have made it and even been retained as lecturers in KSU. Your journey to any of these grades start from 100level. If you must make first class, your first semester 100level result matters because it is the base result. Other subsequent result will be devided by that one. Calculation of gp differs in different departments so I dont have to tell you how is done in my dept so that it wont misslead you. Hard work and prayers are the watchword for better grades. If you dont wanna get frustrated in the school then you had better belt up for the journey. The hard way is the only way. Reading, reading and reading is the key.
 STEPS THAT MAY HELP YOU
You must not play with your attendance and assigment because without CA, only God know how you can pass the course. Read ahead of your lecturers. Get materials from your predecessors and photocopy centers for GST courses. Buy as many text books as you can. In attempting questions in the uni, scholars point of view on the subject matter matters. So learn to quote authors and scholars. Mingle with people you think are better than you in the class. Dont hesitate to ask questions in the class. Tutorials can also help you. Read, read, and read then pray for your first class is sure. See you soon! In the meantime, enjoy the three S of ksu,the signings, the sun and the strees...
- News concerning blocked result:
We got a report that results of some certain students have been blocked. The reason behind this development is because this students were accused of examination mis conduct and were old to appear before the senate at a designated time which they didn't. The senate after conducting a meeting decided to block the results of this students. The faculties involved are social science, agriculture and management....OH MY!!

time to kick out!!

Why You Must Finish With At Least A 2.1 (Second Class Upper) SHARE THIS

I was busy roaming about the internet when I stumbled upon this great piece, check it out:
This piece is for those undergraduates that will like to seek for jobs after school but do not have solid connection. A 1st class or 2.1 will help you AVOID or ALLEVIATE the labour market frustration. Nevertheless, the ones that have influential parents, uncles and aunts can also take a cue from it because it is easier to help someone with a good result. I am a recent graduate from a Nigerian Federal University. I finished with a strong 2.1 but I wish I made a 1st class. I would have made that First class if I were very hard working. I know many people are like me, they would have had better grades if they were more serious. What I’m saying in essence is that most of us are powerful beyond measures but we do not realize how powerful we could be. Finishing with a 2.1 is just about having 3.5 out of total 5.0 CGPA. One can achieve this by mixing Bs with Cs in your courses. I had many friends that didn’t have solid academic background, weren’t very quick at learning but struggled to finish with 3.5, 3.6 after a lot of hard work. Not to talk of many of you that are sharp, it’s just that you are too lazy. I was also a lazy brat but that’s bygone because I’ve learnt my lessons. As a result of the very high rate of unemployment in Nigeria, employers use all possible strategies to pre screen as many as possible applicants and the most popular is the class of degree. 9 out of every 10 Graduate Trainee adverts ask for a minimum of 2.1. The other thing they use in pre screening is age and many also require to have a minimum of 5 credits including maths and english @ one sitting for O’level. Now let’s analyze it: By the time KPMG, Ernst & Young, PWC, Akintola Deloitte, Shell, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Total, Schlumberger, Diamond Bank, GTB, Zenith, First Bank, Nigerian Stock Exchange, P&G, Unilever, Honey well, Nestle, Cadbury, Guiness, Nigerian Breweries, Consolidated Breweries, PZ Cussons, etc all advertise graduate trainee positions and they all ask for a minimum of 2.1. How do you think someone that finished with a 2.2 will feel? I’m currently observing NYSC and I’ve been applying for jobs. Many of my fellow corps members always ask me to share latest job openings with them but many of them have not been able to apply for any because they finished with below 2.1. I hope we all have an idea how frustrating this could be, for you not to have the privilege to prove yourself even when you might be better and more employable than some of us that finished with 2.1 and 1st class. As I’m writing this piece, I have two friends that just got job offers from a reputable multinational company in Nigeria. Guess what? They are both still serving and will resume immediately after NYSC in October. You know what? One of them finished with a 1st class and the other with a strong 2.1. I know some of you will ask about me, I’m also at the last stage of interview and I have reached some recruitment stages in other good companies. All I need is Almighty God’s favour and your prayers can also help land a job offer in some days time *lol*. Many of us have been misled. We’ve been made to believe that even if you finish with good grades, you still won’t get a good job in Nigeria if you don’t have connection. For those that will listen, I can confidently tell you that we still have Firms that act with INTEGRITY in Nigeria, Organizations that will hire you based on your abilities, Companies that will not compromise standards, Employers that will give you an offer without knowing even a gate man. Many Multinationals in Nigeria fall in that category. At least, I know of Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) and Procter & Gamble(P&G). We have many others but those are the two I’ve had comprehensive experience with. Finishing with a 2.1 is very easy only if one can put in the required effort and above all pray to God. For the atheists, just keep working hard, working smart and always have a destination. I know you will believe in God someday*lmao* In Conclusion, one of the commonest things in life is seeing talented people that are unsuccessful. Many of us are gifted but we are just too lazy to make the best use of our potential. If Talent sleeps, Hard work will outshine Talent.

- Also,a statement from the NAKOSS president:
Best greetings to you all fellow students of Kogi State University University Anyigba. Today I have come to bring to your knowledge progress made as regards putting in place proper arrangements for a hitch-free registration exercise. First and most importantly please be informed that registration have started contrary to the wide spread of Rumor that the Academic Staff Union of the University has joined in the ongoing strike embarked upon by the entirety of Kogi State Civil Servants under the Aegis of Kogi Labour Congress for non payment of three and almost four months salary by the state Government. Therefore I urge you all to come to school for your registration expected to last for a period of two academic weeks as it is totally untrue that Necessary Authorities are not in place to attend to students. Secondly brothers and sisters, consequent upon the return to the previous mode of school fees payment until last year that E-payment was introduced I advise that you all pay in the Zenith Bank PLC nearest to your place of Resident to avoid heavy queue at the branch in the school. Still on this I sincerely sympathize with all of you that had to go through the tedious process today in school-- I sincerely appreciate all those concerned for their understanding and I pray God Almighty strengthen us all to overcome all further challenges in pursuit for knowledge. Our activities may not be too obvious but please be rest assured that Nakoss is not asleep and unaware of your challenges and pains and upon this we are seriously trying our best to ensure that your interests are protected as we are always open to receive complaints and most times observe them ourselves and take it up for solutions through the necessary and concerned stakeholders. To this effect you can tell your friends and acolytes who are yet to get their school fees paid if you have that as from tomorrow payment shall be made at Idachaba LT1 as from 8am and this is due to our cry to the management and the Bank Authority having seen how hectic it is for you all to stand under the scorching sun all in the name of paying school fees. I celebrate you all and I hope we all remember that Nakoss alone cannot do it all and as such your assistance and supports too are needed especially in the area of information sharing. (07068294440). Remember: Endeavor to pay your school fees if you are still at home and have not in the nearest zenith bank plc to you to ease stress for both you and the bank. Best Wishes! Please endeavor to forward to others. ABDULMALIK HADI ADINOYI. NAKOSS PRESIDENT K.S.U.
 - Outside ksu: -
I recently read this story about this awe inspiring grass to grace story about a 30 year man named Mr. Hillary Agbo-Odeh,who after completing a pre degree programme in benue state university in 2005,was offered physics instead of the course he wanted which was medicine. Due to his lack of intrest in the course he had 17 carryovers by the time he reached 300 level and was placed on probation. He then withdrew from the school and wrote jamb again(this time he applied for psychology which he said was closer to medicine and surgery),fortunate for him he gained admission, and now he is a graduate, but not just a graduate,a first class graduate with 4.75 as his g.p,grabbing different awards with him for the best graduating student of the 14th and 15th combined convocation of BSU held on January 17. Wow!!...I know God is wonderful and all that but this guy just made God's work easier on his life with his guts, hardwork and passion. Congrats

You have to start thinking!!

Let's make something clear,"students think". Infact, students think a lot, about money, about drinks, about parties, about the opposite sex and so on but most importantly students think about their about lives after school, which is good, the bad about it is that its majorly unrealistic thoughts like "hey,am finally in 100 level studying economics in kogi state university, and I'll graduate in 4 years time, then go and serve, probably do some phd and masters thingy then get a job and the rest money". That's so unrealistic that its makes wwe wrestling is more real. Its plain garbage thought you need to start getting out of your head. This life isn't hollywood, and when you're born into one hell of a country like Nigeria you need to wise up and start thinking with your "brain". If you can take your time and look outside your window to see millions of graduates roaming about the streets you'll probably understand that its not as easy as you think it is,if it was that easy your parents and your friends parents and all parents in nigeria will be multi billionaires, not needing to send you to school self. Life isn't easy, and nigeria is making life even harder for nigerians, the labour market is so choked up,it will take extra power for an angel to pass through. There is hardship in every corner of the country and the earlier you realise this things, the better for you. So instead partying and smiling all around school why don't you sit yourself down and not only think logically but also plan logically. This topics might get you onto the right path:
 - First and foremost you need to realise you only have one life to live, every circumstance you find yourself will most definitely come once, you don't go to primary school twice, well, except you're going there the second time to teach or something. My point is,in every situation you find yourself you have to try hard in making the best outta that situation,if you don't succeed its okay, atleast you tried.
 - Ask yourself questions, like why are they few rich people in the country, what can I do to get there, what are my potentials, what are my weaknesses. You have tons of questions you should start asking yourself. - You need to start tasking yourself. Are too young to make money ?? I mean, they are loads of unemployed graduate out there who still depend on their parents. I know you don't want to belong in that category when you're done with school. You need to know what you have to do to make that money so you'll only have to depend on yourself alone. God has given you a talent, why don't you discover it and start using it to make money now. Their are tons of things you can do as an undergraduate that can cough out money for you,you just need to think and plan on how to strike a balance between your academics and what you're doing. Its not how petty the job is or how little you're earning. Its about knowing for a fact that you can do something to improve your situation. A lot of ond, hnd, bsc,phd holders out there(those certs are a common thing nowadays),some even have all those certs with them at the moment but have nothing to show for it because they failed to realise that school is not about learning on how to work for a boss, its also about how to develop yourself to being your own boss.
 - You need to stop thinking about your future and know that the future you are thinking of is "NOW". You have to start thinking and planing logically from now on. - You need to start encouraging yourself to do things that'll make you big. Forget where you are now,it doesn't matter, its where you're going to be when its all said and done that matters. Forget the fact that you stay in dagana or you stay in one shady place around ksu,and your fellow mates stay in billionaires lodge or exquisite lodge(its probably not their money anyways),it doesn't matter, what matters is you formulating a plan that will change your situation when four years is done and dusted.
- All in all you have to think of doing only what's necessary to get that money, not whats good or bad,not something people like or what they don't like, not what brings shame to you or doesn't bring shame to you,you don't have to care what people think about you, cause at the end of it all its you and only you that matters. Remember, doing whats good or bad set people apart from eachother, but doing what's necessary sets people above their equals. Noboday remembers the disgusting or not disgusting things dangote has done in the past, cause it was necessary to get him to where he is now,"the richest man in africa".
"D difference between possession and ownership;when a person is sweating under the sun selling handkerchiefs and can't take one of it to clean his face, but then goes home with enough money to buy himself a mansion full of handkerchiefs"
