ASUU Warns Of Imminent Crisis, Kicks Against The Scrapping Of Post-UTME
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has disclosed that the nation’s universities may soon experience crisis if the federal government fails to begin the implementation of the 2009 ASUU-FG agreement, especially the NEEDS assessment agreement.
The Union equally demanded that the federal government reverse the ban on post-UTME as well as the exclusive right granted to JAMB to admit students into tertiary institutions.
The ASUU president, Biodun Ogunyemi made this known while addressing new men yesterday in Abuja.
According to him, the scrapping of Post-UTME and the position of the Federal government on the issue portends serious danger for the quality of education in this country.
He emphasized that since the introduction of Post-UTME, there has been improvement in the quality of students admitted into the universities as evident in the declining drop-out rate and urged the federal government to reconsider its decision and convene a stakeholders meeting before making any policy.

JAMB Admission Posting Is Not The Same as Admission List or Admission Letter - Prof. Dibu
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has stated that the recent list of candidates sent to tertiary institutions contains just the names of candidates who met the national cut-off point within the set criteria and hence qualified for screening in their respective institutions based on the institution's capacity and it's not in any way an admission list.
This was disclosed by the JAMB registrar Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, in a statement on Sunday.
According to him, the admission list will only be made available after appropriate screening of candidates by the institutions.
He equally added that all institutions that have need for more candidates can source from their omnibus printout earlier sent to them by the board in order to ensure that available spaces are adequately utilised.
In an earlier statement on Saturday credited to the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Ben. Bem-Goong, it was stated that the role of JAMB is to conduct the UTME, compile the list of candidates whose scores meet the cut-off marks (180 and above) and send same to the universities.
The institutions, will now short list the candidates, using the agreed guidelines and thereafter return the short listed candidates to JAMB for verification of compliance with the guidelines and issuance of JAMB admission letters.

"From the desk of the Students Union Government, We support no warring party. Our interest and agitation is that Kogi State University Students are called back to classes and as such we are intertem with anyone who supports our cause. That is to say, we are asking our fellow students to support the managements decision that all students of Kogi state University Anyingba resume on Sunday 24th July 2016. Recall that the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, directed the Vice Chancellor of the Kogi State University, Anyigba to reopen the school on Monday.
This was after three months industrial action by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities of the institution.
Governor Bello said having met the major demands of the lecturers, they are expected to return to classes.
He said his government will continue to place premium attention to education, urging the different heads of tertiary institutions in the State to deepen the culture of patriotism and hard work among their staff members.
According to the Governor, the Treasury Single Account will soon come afloat in the State, stating that public accountability will remain the hallmark of his administration.
Bello said having paid six months salaries in just six months into his tenure, his government should be trusted by the lecturers.
The Governor promised to look into cases of over- taxation of lecturers in the past, saying cases of unjust taxation will be redressed, adding that the approval on the subject matter, which was handed over to him, was for tax waiver.
He directed full scale audit of all tertiary institutions in the State.
Responding, the heads of the tertiary institutions thanked the Governor for paying four months salary arrears owed by the previous administration.
They said the gesture is a signature of the Governor’s commitment to tertiary education in
the State.
At this point students are a tad confused as to why they should resume when ASUU hasn't called off the strike just yet. Its however safe to resume around 24th of July as their are strong indications that the strike will be called off(officially) before then.
And by the way, its PAAU now, not KSU

Sex and Relationship : 5 stupid fights to avoid in your relationship
We all have gotten into unnecessary arguments and fights with our partners where we end up with regrets. Couples fight over silly issues like these:
1.) "Why do you work a lot?"
People don’t understand that when your partner has already hard an exhausting day at the office, it's so wrong to start a fight about his work hours when he returns home. Marriage expert Sheri Meyers says, "Rather than fighting about your S.O. spending too much time at work, make the time you do have together even more precious and special by filling it with the three A’s: attention, appreciation and affection. " She adds that, "When you put your focus on the good things that you value in your relationship, the time you do spend together will be more fun, loving and fulfilling."

2.) "We don’t have enough sex"
Being hostile with your partner about how often you have sex or your desire to try something new in the bedroom won’t change anything even though you have a valid point. According to marriage and family therapist, Amy Begel, "Arguing about sex never works. Sex is the most intimate of connections between two people but you need to realize it’s primarily a non-verbal art form." She adds that fights brings the 'wrong kind of energy” and “kills the spark” you share as a couple. Instead, "imagination, seduction, affection, great conversation and well-placed flirting are more likely to positively transform a couple’s sex life."
3.) "I am right and you are wrong"
This is the most common fights between couples nowadays. It's difficult dealing with a partner who always needs to be right. Maybe you should try telling your spouse that you need to agree to disagree when you are little self- righteous. "The truth is neither one of you is 100 percent right and neither one of you is 100 percent wrong,” Sheri Meyers says. "The task at hand is to stop competition (me vs. you) and start cooperation (you are, after all, a team). Instead of looking for what’s wrong, search for what you can agree on."
4.) "Why can't or don't you call me while you're at work?"
WTF! He/she should drop whatever they are doing to call you? What for? Even though it's kind and thoughtful to check on your spouse during the day, it's also hard to do so between meetings and a super busy day. "It might be that she can’t multitask her attention at work and it’s better to wait until she’s away from the office grind to talk,” said Carin Goldstein, a marriage and family therapist based in Sherman Oaks, California. "So if you really need to chit- chat during the day, call a friend who has some free time and save yourself a no-win argument with your spouse."
5.) "I'm the only one keeping this relationship
afloat"
Stay clear of arguments about who’s the better parent, spouse or breadwinner. There’s no room from one-up- manship in a healthy marriage, says Begel. "Fights like this mask underlying tensions that need to be addressed openly, without kicking the other person in the process,” adding, "These are important challenges that need to be worked through — your feelings of neglect or lack of appreciation matter — but don’t make it a competition."

Sex and Relationship : 3 very easy ways to know he's unfaithful
Even though there is never a real moment of
knowing when someone is unfaithful, some
people just have instincts about a cheating spouse. They could also be wrong. So, it's rather a series of picking up signs and reasoning that the signs may lead to a possibility of unfaithful behavior. Moreover , getting absolute evidence is perfect and that may include these three factors below:
1. Confession to cheating:
This is when one partner actually opens his mouth to accept to being a cheat. This is perhaps the best way to know he's unfaithful. Admitting to being unfaithful can mean two things: He loves you and wants to end his secret affair to be with you or he's tired of hiding and wants you gone so he could continue his secret romance.

2. Catch them red handed:
This also an absolute way to knowing he's been cheating. If you get to see your man kissing or making love to another girl or you find out via his private emails or text messages that he's prophesying love to another person and even praising her for the sex last night. Another thing is for you to see photos of them in bed or even a sex tape! These proofs enough!
3. Unreasonable lies:
Most people find it hard to lie. These group of men end up confessing to cheating by not even knowing they did. As they say, "one lie always leads to another and finally you even forget the truth." Some women can detect when their men are lying. For example, "you ask your man if he went out on Valentine's Day while on a trip and he says "no babe, I was home all day". Yet his girlfriend posted a video on social media showing them both having an intimate time together in a completely different state." What the hell!?
