The Student union Government of Kogi state university alongside the National Association of Kogi State Students(NAKOSS) has scheduled a protest action on the 9th of June. They further stated that if the protest action on the 9th of june does not yeild the desired result, they will extend the action to the Government house Lokoja. Details of the letter below :
"Going by the above explanation sir and relying on the Kogi State University Information Handbook (pg 67 2008/2009 edition) which empowers students bodies to carry out "civil disobedience" without the destruction of lives and properties or abuse of rights of other people. It is on this strength that we on behalf of the entire students of Kogi State University,Anyigba whuch we represent inform you through this letter that on the 9th of June 2016 the entire students will be staging a peaceful protest here in Anyigba the university host community to register our grievances and displeasure over the comatose situation that we have been pushed to. We wish also to inform you that if our intended action at Anyigba did not yield the desired result,we shall extend this action to the Government House,Lokoja on the 19th of June 2016"
"It is important that we state without any reservation that our lives as Student Union Leaders has been under threat as we have been variously accused of taken bribe or threatened by the state government and the University Management simultaneously to compromise our mandate. We no longer move freely among our fellow students, who out of frustration and anger have marked us for attack.
Aluta continua, victoria ascerte !!! Amala Aweitsu, Nothing Shall Discourage Us !"
Now that's how to make a statement,we wait for the governor's response,in any case, its a win win situation for we students and the student leaders.
