Ways to Avoid Getting Raped in Kogi State University
Do you have fears that you may get raped while in Kogi state university ? Here are some very helpful pointers you can follow if you want to really stay safe.
1 Be very cautious of who you place your
trust in. Most victims of rape knew the perpetrator prior to the attack. Rapists are classmates, roommates, friends of friends -people who act ‘nice’ in order to more easily win your trust. A friend of a friend is still a stranger to you. Do not feel obligated to spend time with someone because they are acquainted with someone that you know.
2 Learn how to defend yourself from an attack.
Take a self defense course, martial arts, or boxing. Carry pepper spray. When in public, walk confidently and purposefully. Do not act distracted or uncertain. Do not walk around in public chatting on a phone or texting. If you exercise outdoors, do not wear headphones. Vary your routine.

6 Signs of Liver Disease MostPeople Ignore
It’s easy to think that only alcoholics get liver disease.
Whilst alcoholism is a common cause, livers aren’t as
durable as you think, and can be damaged by diets, genetic
conditions and many diseases, such as Hepatitis A, B and
C. Since the liver is responsible for detoxifying our blood,
any damage is potentially lethal. Here are six symptoms to
watch out for.
1. Going Yellow
When anyone spontaneously changes colour, it’s always a
cause for concern. Jaundice is characteristic of liver
disease, which causes a yellowing of the skin and eyes, due
to an accumulation of pigments in the blood. If this applies
to you, see a doctor immediately. Lemon is definitely not
your colour.

Follow These Steps and You Will Never Get A CarryOver In KSU
The term ‘carryover’ is very familiar with students no
matter the level you are. In fact, students
have employed extreme measures e.g night classes
just to curb this nightmare, but guess what, ‘Heaven
help those who help themselves’.
Let me just run you through some points that you
could possibly apply to avoid a carryover.
1) Treat all courses
equally
This is a very vital point.
Students are known with
the habit of preferring one
course over another
thereby giving more
attention to the preferred
course. This is not cool at
all as there is every
tendency of you carrying
the neglected course over.

Breaking news !!
Honest Quarters has been burnt down !!
News reaching us is that honest quarters,a lodge located around back of NTA,around 3pm this afternoon got burnt down.
Types of friends you should avoid in the university
While there are friends that can pull you down, there
are others that can raise you up. These are 4 types of
friends you should avoid in the university;
1. The Doubter
The doubting friend always wants proof that your
dream is possible. They will believe in you as long as
they see it. This friend will buy in late in the game but
in the early stages of chasing your dreams they will
fuel your doubt. When you hang out with this friend
you spend most of your time trying to convince them
of the vision that you can see. This friend will describe
themselves as a realist but you don’t have time
to entertain this doubter.

What's Up !!
Its freaky friday ladies and gentlemen of ksu,and to be honest we are really sorry about how inconsistent "what's up" has been in the past few weeks. we are trying to wait for this batch b/second list/ second batch list to come out first before we reignite the tradition. pardon us abeg.On the second list matter though,we brought you a confirmed report that their is a second list and it will be out soon,as if that wasn't enough the Head of department of masscommunication SR (Dr) Chika Asogwa on wednesday told mass communication students (200l) that the reason why they(the macosa team) don't have the list of the exact number of direct entry and diploma students admitted is because the school management said "they aren't done with admitting students yet". Another statement of confirmation that their are other list to be released by the school. That's settled .

Signs that you are suffering from stress
In modern society, stress is becoming a part of life for many
of us. Long working hours, commitments to others and
paying the bills are hardly new factors, but in an age of
austerity they are more keenly felt. This means that it is vital
to empower yourself to combat stress and ensure you don’t
become overwhelmed by the daily bump and grind. The
first step is to recognise how to spot if you’re stressed and
the following 6 symptoms of stress will help you do just
that.
1. Skin Problems
Many of us may consider stress a mental issue that we can
hide away from others, but this is just not the case. The
impact that stress has will manifest itself in a very physical
way in terms of your skin. This is because stress will leave
your skin more prone to irritants such as eczema, acne and
psoriasis.
2. Poor Concentration
We focus best in quiet, calm spaces and this goes for our
mind as well as environment. Stress causes your brain to be
filled with worries which will detract from your problem
solving abilities. Studies have shown that students before
an exam are much worse at mental tasks than after it, this
is because the impending stress causing event has passed.

Sex and relationship : 9 characteristics of highly desirable women
9 Characteristics Of Highly Desirable Women
The dictionaries define “Desirable” as “worth having or
wanting; pleasant, excellent or fine.”
Any man or woman who
has dreamed of a future
has probably created an
image of what he or she
would desire most in
their partner. And most
women have probably
wished to be more
desirable at some point.
While the world keeps
hankering over what
exactly are the
characteristics of highly
desirable women, the
truth is that we can only
speculate. The definition
will keep evolving.
However, we can safely say that highly desirable
women will likely have the following nine
characteristics.

Meet the youngest professor in the world
Meet The Youngest Professor in the World PICTURES

Meet The Youngest Professor in the World PICTURES
Sabur was born in New York City, New York. Her mother, Julie Sabur (born Kessler), worked as a reporter for News12 Long Island until 1995. She married Mohammed Sabur, a Pakistan native, in 1980. Alia, born on February 22, 1989, showed early signs of giftedness. She tested “off the IQ scale,” according to an educator who tested her as a first-grader. As a fourth-grader, she left public school and was admitted to State University of New York at Stony Brook at the age of 10, later graduating summa cum laude at 14. She also received a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 9.
OTHER GENIUSES

Mathematics career
After Stony Brook, Sabur attended Drexel University where she received her M.S. in 2006. Alia is recipient of the 2007 Dean fellowship from Drexel University. In 2007 she took a temporary position at Southern University in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
On 19 February 2008, at 18 years of age (3 days before her 19th birthday), she was appointed to the position of International Professor as Research Liaison with Stony Brook University by the Dept. of Advanced Technology Fusion at Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. The position was a temporary, one-year contract which she chose not to renew. The Guinness Book of World Records named Sabur the World’s Youngest Professor.
She began her position at the Department of Advanced Technology Fusion at Konkuk University in June 2008 and returned to her hometown of New York early 2009, without renewing her contract.
Deepwater Horizon oil spill
In June 2010 Sabur appeared on CNN and Fox News’ Hannity to illustrate her idea, which BP considered as an option to help alleviate the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.Graduate school controversy
In 2008, Sabur filed a civil suit against Drexel University, claiming that the university engaged in fraud and defamation regarding Sabur’s pursuit of a doctoral degree. In the suit, Sabur charges that Yury Gogotsi, her former Ph.D. advisor, improperly used her research to apply for grants, and deliberately obstructed her degree. Trial proceedings began on August 9, 2010.“But that was when I grew disillusioned with the science world. I saw bad conduct and realised that some professors weren’t motivated by a love of science. I fell out with the adviser who was supervising my PhD. I sued Drexel University in a civil lawsuit and the case has now gone into private, binding arbitration. I believe my adviser applied for grants and patents using my ideas, and took credit for them. He denies this and has accused me of stealing his work. Even though the university has cleared me of plagiarism it has still refused to award me my PhD.”, says Financial Times article.
This is the second lawsuit involving the Sabur family. In the previous one Alia Sabur’s “parents brought suit on behalf of their daughter and alleged that defendants board of education, its members, and the school district failed to provide their daughter with appropriate educational services in violation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act”. Six of the seven counts were dismissed.

TOP 10 DISPICABLE AND ANNOYING THINGS KSU STUDENTS DO !!
Kogi state university is,like any other university, unique in standards, with ups and downs. Its a funny institution with different characters in all departments around the school.
However, their are some annoying traits that are common to most of ksu students. Check them out :
1. Spreading mind buggling and over the top rumours :
Ksu students and their rumors have one thing common, "heart attack". Ksu students can fit kill with their mind bogging rumors. Someone will just wake up and cook up one heavy lie and spread it fast fast, remember six month renovation break ??
2. Rushing in for gst/eds lectures :
This is mostly common in 100 level gst lectures. Its really really annoying. Its like the release of caged animals and from my 100 level days till now I still don't understand why ksu students do this. Why ??
3. Jokingly insulting people :
Ksu students do this very often.
In the middle of a discussion they just indirectly jab you with soft words, the funny thing everybody will laugh it off when in actuality its an insult. Bad habit
4. Making loud and extremely dumb utterances in the middle of a lectures :
They are fond of this thing en,a lecturer will be saying something or a student asking a question and before you know one loud annoying person yells something annoying hoping to be funny. Its extremely annoying
5. Not minding their business :
You are probably gisting about something with your friend(s) or coursemate(s) and all of a sudden a guy/gal just comes and interrupt rudely giving his/her opinion on the matter when nobody asked for it. Its irritating.
6. Constant famzing :
This is common among ksu gals like madt. You as a guy friend offers to stroll her home(which she accepts) and you guys take off from law faculty passing throuh that straight road to inikpi hostel, before you get to the school gate she has greeted like 15 guys already. For why ?? Its not even the fact that she's greeting guys that's annoying, its the way she does it. She will just leave una discussion to greet one mumu guy and come back again, then shout "heeeeeyyyy bayo, what's up now" for another guy again. Wetin happen na,atleast show a sign of respect for the guy your with at that moment. Its really annoying.
7. Forming badoo on queue :
On a queue in ksqueue,na everybody be prominent personality ooo. On atm queue like this everybody go dey form important peron ontop the 1000 wey dem one collect.
Shebi matric will come now, common 100 level students will start forming boss on queue to collect matric gown. Annoying thing.
8. Always comparing,wyning,complaning about everything :
Ksu student do this practically everyday. Its either one university is better than ksu,or ksu is this and that and not good enough compared to some other universities,or something is wrong with this or that, its basicallt too much...haha...biko....if you hate the school that much then why are you in it in the first place...hun...??
9. Cycloning :
Ksu students, especially those ones forming guru or forming bad guys are fond of cycloning,or cliqs. The ones forming guru are always seen packing themselves up and down in school for one group reading or the other asif their school fees was paid by one father.
Also the ones forming badt guys or badt girls are always in their cliqs, and dem no sabi anything,if small thing happen now they will be the first to disappear.
10. Urinating in places inside school :
This one is really really bad. Its common among guys. I mean why the hell would you turn a place inside the school to a public toilet. I don't understand. The smell that oozed out of the back of that social science building last semester was craaaaaaaaazzzzyy. They will start again this semester now. Why will you do something like that. Why ???

Ksu boys and girls palava: Ways to know your boyfriend is going to be rich
Ways To Tell If Your Boyfriend Is Going To Be Rich
Ladies, not every guy is a member of the lucky sperm club. Not every poor guy today is worth investing in. Some are simply hopeless and will never hit it big.
Some are purely millionaires in the making. But to spare you from waking up one morning realizing you’ve invested your time, effort and youth for nothing, here’s the rule of thumb I’ve used to sift out good penny stocks.
*.1. He knows he is good at something… Knowing his worth is usually the first step towards wealth creation. Baby-sitting, baking, gardening or whatever so long as he recognises that the skills he honed are exchangeable for money.
* He is self-disciplined..
He has the ability to concentrate on future financial goals without swaying from everyday tasks that will lead him there. No matter how boring or unpleasant.
*.3. He blames himself, not others...
He thinks it’s always his fault. Either partially or entirely. It might seem a little sadistic but it’s him actually knowing that he has control over his environment, decisions and ultimately his own future
*.4. He lives below his means…. It doesn’t mean he’s a miser. He chooses to accumulate more wealth rather than to succumb to short-lived pleasures of buying a Rolex or a BMW. Someone in the relationship has to make this sacrifice at the beginning. If not him, who else?
* He is a doer...
He doesn’t blabber on and on about how he is going to do something great. He just does it. He doesn’t complain about doing stuff. He just does it.
*.6. He is extremely curious….
He takes time and effort to figure out the nuts and bolts of why things work or don’t work. Opportunity sometimes arises when he stumbles upon an unserved niche.
*.7. He is thick skinned…
He has the balls to execute his crazy plans. Whatever they may be. Failure doesn’t concern him. Or should I say he isn’t afraid of being laughed at if he didn’t succeed. He repeats 6 and tries again. Investing in men is largely based on intrinsic value. You’ll win some and you’ll lose some. But when you do win, make sure you win big. So good luck ladies. May the dating market be forever bullish..

Sex and relationship: Things guys shouldn't do on their first date
During a guy or lady’s first date, whatever impression one leaves with one’s partner is almost certain to last forever. What either of the duo thinks about the other will go a long way in determining how long the ‘relationship’ will last.
There are so many red lights when starting a relationship, whether
romantic or platonic, but whichever way the relationship will go is
determined by the first date
Therefore, one has to go the extra mile, just for the sake of the relationship, irrespective of the motive. For the guys, here are 10 things you should not do when you are having a date with a lady for the very first time:
1. Don’t complain about her family
As a guy, when going on a date for the first time, refrain from complaining about your family. No lady would want to listen to you whining about family issues when you first meet.
2. Don’t ask too many questions
Please guys, don’t badger your date with so many questions. A date should be enjoyed, so don’t irritate the lady.
3. Don’t talk about s*x
Talking about s*x when you first meet your date can be a turn off for most people. Some ladies would want to get to know you before getting to that stage, even if there has to be anything like that in your relationship.
4. Don’t flirt with her
Guys is very important not to behave as if you are attracted to someone when you are not just for amusement. Don’t lead your date on when you clearly don’t have feelings.
5. Don’t fidget
As a guy fidgeting when you first meet your date sometimes shows that your man enough. Ladies like and appreciate guys who are confident about themselves.
6. Don’t pick your nose
It’s bad manners to pick your nose in public especially in front of a lady.
7. Do not talk about your wealth or earning
Bragging about your wealth or earnings the first time you meet a lady is turn off for most ladies. As a guy it shows how vain you can be and doesn’t show maturity.
8. Don’t let her pay
It is very wrong to allow a lady to pay the bill when you are out on a date with her for the first time. It doesn’t make you as a guy look serious.
9. Don’t ask for her age
When you first meet your date don’t ask for her age. Ladies get very sensitive when they meet a guy for the first time and they are asked their age.
10. Don’t be too quick to post joint picture on social media
No rush, wait for two-three dates.

How 11 year old orphan becam a millinonaire
How 11 Year Old Orphan Became a Millionaire. This story was
told on
http://www.myafricanow.com/a-millionaire-at-20-yrs-old-kenya-tech/.
Mubarak Muyika was not a conventional school boy, the kind that depended
on Dad and Mum for almost everything, from food to underwear. Not that
he detested such luxury, but life didn’t just let him have it.
Orphaned at the age of 11, Mubarak knew he had to brace up and face life head-on. He was made to live with his Aunt and her husband who owned a small book publishing and distribution company, Acrodile Publishers.
While working with his adoptive parents, he discovered the difficulty they faced each day trying to reach more customers with the insufficient help of a webmaster who provided a poor service at a very high cost. Mubarak took the initiative to address this need; he began teaching himself how to build a website using online resources. The result of his work was very amazing. In a space of months, the teenager became a website pro. He then delivered a working e-commerce site for Acrodile Publishers
He knew that was the price he had to pay for his dream. Most people found the young man’s action difficult to comprehend, but not Chris Kirubi; the business mogul who recommended Mubarak for the scholarship.Mubarak’s entrepreneurial leanings were discovered at an early stage, when he began business at Kamusinga High School in Bungoma County. This drive intensified as he grew older, I guess that explains why he turned down what young men his age would call a very rare opportunity; a fully paid scholarship to the prestigious Harvard University in the US.
‘‘Mr Muyika is enterprising and focused, I recommended him to Havard University but noticed that entrepreneurship came first and he had no obligation to pursue the course. Nowadays one can learn in many ways, even Bill Gates did not complete his studies. He walked out and aggressively did serious business,’’Chris tells Business Daily in a phone interview.
In January 2012, Mubarak registered Hype Century Technologies and Investments Ltd, a company which deals in web-designing and domain registration. He soon incorporated two of his friends in the enterprise and within three months, the business became a highly profitable one.
‘We started very small, with Sh50, 000 which I had saved from a freelance job I had been doing as a student and after High School. My first client was so impressed that he offered me space in his office at Rehema House in Nairobi,’’ He recounts.
HypeCentury has continued to grow and become profitable, expanding services to include domain name registration, online marketing, and more. Mubarak’s vision for HypeCentury is to grow East Africa’s economy by leveraging the power of the internet. Isn’t it clear that the young man is striding on the right path?
‘‘We had three computers and in a good month I would pocket between Sh60, 000 and Sh80,000, which I used to pay my two part-time employees. Our services varied from domain registration to web hosting and designing ’’ He says. ‘‘Most of the new staff were university graduates, I was dealing with the best talent in the market,’’
The entrepreneur Mubarak Muyika is also an Anzisha prize fellow; he contested in 2012 and was awarded with Sh1.1 million.
Since then, several major business doors have been opening at will for the young business man. In December 2012, Mubarak hit a big one when he entered business with Indian investor Jignesh Patel who runs I-Code Ltd. Mr Patel acquired a 25 per cent stake in the company while Mubarak had 60. By the end of the year the company had more than 900 domains.
‘‘Patel had 25 per cent shares, Wakwoma five per cent, Doursey 10 per cent and I had 60 per cent. I retained the chief executive’s position but I had the feeling that I was not maximising my potential. I opted to sell my shares and develop a new venture,’’ Mubarak tells Business Daily.
Soon after that, Mubarak registered another firm, Zagace, an enterprise management platform that uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and web-hosting resources to create a basic forum for business systems and processes. He rented a two-bedroom house which acts as his office and has employed about 12 computer programmers. Mubarak is set to take the world and may never relent until he achieves his purpose.
He had the option of wallowing in self-pity with a badge on his chest that says; “I am a helpless orphan, can’t you see?” instead he took charge of his life and became a solution to other people’s needs. You too can take the world, but first, you need to take charge of your life and then step out in faith. You are stronger and more intelligent than you know.
He told the Business Daily in an interview at Nation Centre, Nairobi.‘‘I cleared high school in 2011, two years earlier I had developed a passion for computers that saw me set up a website for my adoptive parents who were running a bookshop. ‘‘They needed an online platform to expand their venture,’

How to stay focus on your goals when you are worn out
How to Stay Focused on Your Goals When You Are Worn Out
We all have goals and dreams, but it can be difficult to stick with them. Each week, I hear from people who say things like, “I start with good intentions, but I can’t seem to maintain my consistency for a long period of time.” Or, they will say, “I struggle with mental endurance. I get started but I can’t seem to follow through and stay focused for very long.”Don’t worry. I’m just as guilty of this as anyone else. For example, I’ll start one project, work on it for a little bit, then lose focus and try something else. And then I’ll lose focus on my new goal and try something else. And on and on. When everything is said and done, I’ve stopped and started so many times that I never really made much progress.
This problem reminds me of a lesson I learned one day…Maybe you have felt this way too
On this particular day in the gym, there was a coach visiting who had
worked with thousands of athletes over his long career, including some
nationally-ranked athletes and Olympians. I had just finished my workout
when I asked him, “What’s the difference between the best athletes and
everyone else. What do the really successful people do that most people
don’t?”The Myth of Passion and Motivation
He briefly mentioned the things that you might expect. Genetics.
Luck. Talent. But then he said something I wasn’t expecting. “At some
point,” he said, “it comes down to who can handle the boredom of
training every day and doing the same lifts over and over and over
again.” That piece of advice surprised me because it’s a different way
of thinking about work ethic. Most of the time people talk about getting motivated and “amped up” to work on their goals. Whether it’s business or sports or art, you will commonly hear people say things like, “it all comes down to having enough passion.” As a result, I think many people get depressed when they lose focus or motivation because they think that successful people have some unstoppable passion and willpower that they seem to be missing. But that’s exactly the opposite of what this coach was saying.
Instead, he was saying that really successful people feel the same boredom and the same lack of motivation that everyone else feels. They don’t have some magic pill that makes them feel ready and inspired every day. But the difference is that the people who stick with their goals don’t let their emotions determine their actions. Top performers still find a way to show up, to work through the boredom, and to embrace the daily practice that is required to achieve their goals.
According to him, it’s this ability to do the work when it’s not easy that separates the top performers from everyone else. That’s the difference between professionals and amateurs.
Working When Work Isn’t Easy
Anyone can work hard when they feel motivated. When I was an athlete, I loved going to practice the week after a big win. Who wouldn’t? Your coach is happy, your teammates are pumped up, and you feel like you can beat anyone. As an entrepreneur, I love working when customers are rolling in and things are going well. Getting results has a way of propelling you forward.
But what about when you’re bored? What about when the work isn’t easy? What about when it feels like nobody is paying attention or you’re not getting the results you want? Are you willing to work through 10 years of silence?
It’s the ability to work when work isn’t easy that makes the difference.
It’s Not the Event, It’s the Process
All too often, we think our goals are all about the result. We see success as an event that can be achieved and completed. Here are some common examples…
- Many people see health as an event: “If I just lose 20 pounds, then I’ll be in shape.”
- Many people see entrepreneurship as an event: “If we could get our business featured in the New York Times, then we’d be set.”
- Many people see art as an event: “If I could just get my work featured in a bigger gallery, then I’d have the credibility I need.”
But if you look at the people who are consistently achieving their goals, you start to realize that it’s not the events or the results that make them different. It’s their commitment to the process. They fall in love with the daily practice, not the individual event.
What’s funny, of course, is that this focus on the process is what will allow you to enjoy the results anyway…
If you want to be a great writer, then having a best-selling book is wonderful. But the only way to reach that result is to fall in love with the process of writing.
If you want the world to know about your business, then it would be great to be featured in Forbes magazine. But the only way to reach that result is to fall in love with the process of marketing.
If you want to be in the best shape of your life, then losing 20 pounds might be necessary. But the only way to reach that result is to fall in love with the process of eating healthy and exercising consistently.
If you want to become significantly better at anything, you have to fall in love with the process of doing it. You have to fall in love with building the identity of someone who does the work, rather than merely dreaming about the results that you want.
In other words…
Fall in love with boredom. Fall in love with repetition and practice. Fall in love with the process of what you do and let the results take care of themselves.

Top secrets of a first class students you should know
TOP 10 SECRETS OF FIRST CLASS STUDENTS YOU SHOULD KNOW (Share This)
Here are the top ten most powerful secrets that are known by only few students who emerge with First class, get this secrets now and join this team of outstanding scholars.1, NATURAL BRILLIANCE:
There is a minimum level of natural brilliance that is required before a student can think of First Class. I do not intend to put limit to one’s capabilities, for I believe like most people that impossible is nothing. However, realistically speaking, that is an exception to the rule. Most First Class students have a track record from lower levels of education. That is the first foundation.
2.The power of dream
Most first class students dream. I do not mean metaphysical dream, I mean the Luther King definition – vision, forward- looking, even though awake. In secondary school I had a friend who once looked up and said, ‘the last time someone made an aggregate 6 (i.e minimum of 6 A1’s in SSCE) in this school was 12 years ago, I want to be the next’. He made it. Same boy told me he wanted to ‘enter the back of JAMB brochure’, meaning he wanted to be among the top 3 JAMB students in Nigeria (JAMB print at the back of the brochure for a year the names of the best 3 candidates in the prior year’s examinations). He didn’t make it, but he scored 296. When this friend of mine entered Ife, he went to his faculty’s board, where names of best students are engraved every year, looked up and said, ‘when I leave this school after five years I want my name written on this board’. He worked for it. He didn’t make it. But he not only came out with a CGPA north of 4.7 (of the possible 5.0) but he also emerged as one of his faculty’s best. After that, he told someone that he wanted to have his PhD without doing Master’s degree. The person told him it was hardly possibly, and counted on his fingertips the number of Nigerians that performed that feat. My friend proved our doubter wrong. He got the PhD at age 29, skipping Master’s. That is the power of dream.
What most people don’t know is that there is usually a subtle competition among best students in classes. The competition is not necessarily unhealthy. They may be –and in fact usually are – friends, but they compete. In my undergraduate days, story is told of a guy that, at the beginning of every semester, went to ask what X, the best student in the class immediately preceding his, scored in each course and he would tell those cared to listen to him that he would break the record and score higher than him. He did, most times. Most First Class students compete. Each wants to be the highest scorer in each subject. That is why it is always good to go to a competitive institution, rather than enjoy local championship status without stiff competition.
4. CALCULATION:
When you see some students reading a purely theoretical course and having calculator by the side, don’t think they are insane or doing ‘over-syllabus’. No they are just running the permutations – if I score B in this course, what will my CGPA be? What is the worst case scenario? What is the best case scenario? How many A’s do I need to make X-CGPA? etc. These are calculations that go on in their heads. Some don’t even compute their GP’s at the end of a semester, they have the template in their heads already, having done the permutations over and over again even before writing the examinations, and they just insert the course scores into their mental template.
5, OPTIMISTIC MENTALITY:
Some students die many times before their academic death. How can a student gain admission into a school and the first thing he hears is, you can never make a First Class, they wont give you. Well, I don’t believe this. This is what kills many students. How can you go to battle with a defeatist mentality and expect to win? Many First Class students defy these “messengers of doom” and pursue their target optimistically. I finished from the Obafemi Awolowo University and this is one thing I must commend students of the school for. As a Jambite, what you hear are stories of one Deji Akere that shattered school records, or one Hammed Shittu that effortlessly broke any record breakable. You even hear of stories of students that had graduated since the 1970s. These are stories that motivate you, not some tale by moonlight about a sadist lecturer denying you First class. This is another very vital feature of First Class students. They don’t believe rooster and bull stories.
6, ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT:
Academic environment also helps. In a school where you spend most of your time queuing for water or transport or forced to read with candle, chances of academic success are very low. This is why Nigerian students do well abroad where they have all the facilities and learning is conducive. This is also why schools like OAU, UI and to some extent, Unilag, with strong students body that fight for students welfare like good transport system, power on campus, good water system etc, produce more First Class students. Same for private schools, where there is little or no worry about welfare.
7, COURSE OF STUDY:
Course of study is another very important factor. It is better to choose a course you are interested in, not one you are forced to do. Some otherwise brilliant students don’t perform up to potential because they are not interested in what they are studying in the university.
8, THE EARLY YEARS ARE CRITICAL:
Some students get taken away by the euphoria of being a university student and spend their first year faffing around. Still, in some schools, year 1 performance is not aggregated as part of the overall grade. For most students, after performing woefully in their first two years, they now grab straw to salvage the situation in the later years. Needless to say, it is most times a futile exercise. But there are cases of great come-backs. The best two students in my class during my undergraduate days were not among top 15 in class after our first semester year 1. They were not even in First Class then. But they came back to overtake all of us early flyers. Well, that means there is still hope if you didn’t do too well after your year 1. But after year 2, the bridge may have fallen.
9, KNOW THYSELF:
The problem with many student is they try to ‘copy-cat’. While it is good to learn from the method of another high performer, it is important to know how to adapt it. Some students don’t need to read for more than 3 hours a day before they pass, indeed do excellently well and top the class. Some must read for at least 7 hours a day. I know First Class students that watched football and participated actively in campus religious activities. Some even get involved in departmental politics. It is about knowing oneself. But for most First Class students I know, reading the notes while still hot, and not waiting till they accumulate, is a common denominator.
10,….AND KNOW THY TEACHER TOO AND KNOW GOD:
Knowing how to approach a question in an examination is an art itself. How do you organize your answers? It goes beyond just picking the answer script and writing down what you think is the answer. Know what the lecturer wants. Does he want ‘lengthy story’? Or he wants it ‘short and snappy’? You may have a clue into this through your seniors who had taken the course earlier. First class students study not only the course, but the course-taker

3. Ladies Who Are Obsessed With Marriage
These categories of ladies are not spiritually inclined but they can foretell the future accurately than T. B Joshua. By mere looking, they can tell if your future will be bright or not. 4. Ladies Who Are Voracious In Nature
It’s very shameful that when you invite some ladies on a date, they will come with their friends, if possible they can even bring their maid along. They will order for shawama, friend rice and chicken, juice, ice cream, cake and will eat as if there’s famine in the land. You should run faster than Usain Bolt when you notice these habit in ladies because they will screw you up and drop you when your cash no longer flows
5. Ladies Who Are Fashion Freaks
Having high taste in fashion and wearing good clothing is not a bad idea, but some are so obsessed with artificial parameters, that is, looking natural is a taboo to them. Even if they wake up by 7am, before taking their bath, they will apply make-up before stepping out of their compound. Funny enough, despite the application of facial parameters they wear on their skin, many of them will end up looking like Papa Ajasco. Oooboi na to run from these categories of babes oooo
6. Ladies Who Show No Appreciation For Gesture
During last week’s lecture (psychology) which main thrust centred on “A GESTURE OF APPRECIATION ; a controversial issue arose, and I was so astonished that the higher percentage of ladies in my class said that they will never call a guy who sends them N100 recharge card, but will manage to call or flash a dude who sends N500+ recharge card. This almost resulted in chaos and I couldn’t but shook my head for those ladies. There’s no point dating ladies with this mentality
7. Ladies That Change Their Dps 50 Times A Day . [/b]
Either you agree with me or not, apart from the fact that some ladies are photo freak, some are immature that they change their display pictures up to 30times daily. However, they do that to show their taste in fashion, level of exposure and their level of sophistication. These categories of ladies are scum in my personal opinion
8. Lazy Girls
When a lady is very lazy, she sees every man who comes her way as a messiah that she will mount her financial need on. They are so lazy that they don’t venture into skill acquisition exercise. They know nothing about bead making, hair dressing, baking, manicure and pedicure. These categories of ladies have the mentality of “a real man should always provide the need of his girlfriend”.
9. Party Freak
It’s a good thing to rejoice with people who are celebrating, but note that not every lady attend other people’s party with the intention of celebrating with them. However, some are so freaked that they will be the first to buy aso igbeyawo (wedding clothes) of people they barely know. They will dress gorgeous even more than the bride. You will see them disturbing photographers as if their lives depend on them. They will later take to their BBM, whatsapp, facebook and will flaunt their styles. What's up !!!
What's up is back, after almost a week of absense.
The past dys has seen so many happenings around ksu.
First off; the different rumors here and there about the second list, when in actuality its just an update of the first list, nothing like the batch B or second list or second batch or wahever ksu aspirants call it. For now though, wether their will be a second list or not its left to be seen,my advice to aspirants is to get a jamb form and prepare for jamb exams,,keep your fingers crossed, keep hoping and keep praying.
Also, the sad sde news of the passing away of our beloved lecturer,Dr Rufus Adeleye of geography and planning. I think "gone so soon" is right, owing to the fact that this new crop of geo planning in 100l won't get the chance to feel his charm. Such a shame really. R.I.P sir...rest well in the upper "enfiroment".
For returning students lectures has started so start resuming, meanwhile for aspirants waiting for admission, ksu is a very ruthless institution, don't be suprised some people will gain admission some weeks before exams.
And finally the new v.c has waged war on those hostels criminals,so its better if you just stay out of anything hostel if you are in 200l or 300l
Gracias,time to kick out !!!

70 Year Old Grandfather Graduates From University
70 year old grandfather graduates from university

A 70-year-old man, recently graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University in the United States.
Kieu’s daughter, Mary Kieu told Huffington Post, in an interview that fled Vietnam in 1975 during the fall of Saigon, with his wife, Kim, and their three young children.
“He’s never been the kind of guy who could be idle for more than an afternoon,” she said, explaining how her father worked odd jobs all his life to provide for his family
“I would describe dad’s story as one of so many other immigrants who are lucky enough to call this wonderful country home,” Mary said. “Work hard, believe in yourself, never give up, and even at the ripe age of 70, you can reach your goal.“

Things You Must Work On Before Graduation
Things You MUST Work On Before Graduation
1. Spoken englishIt is so sad that majority of Nigerian students in tertiary institutions don’t bother about polishing their spoken and written english. Some graduates speak english worse than a toddler, making one wonder what they spent 16yrs doing in school. You hear them spew gabbage like “he come and slap me and I come and beat him”. If you speak such english to an interviewer, even with first class clearly written on your CV, he will probably think you runzed your way through school. The use of words like yeah, goddamn, omo, sh*t, f**k etc should be stopped cos they don’t portray you as a decent person.
2. Mode of dressing
Looking fly on campus is one of the things undergraduate enjoys. It was fun cos you had so much of the opposite sex around to admire you. The moment you graduate, your orientation should change. Not that a graduate should stop wearing denims and sneakers, but sagging and putting on studs with crazy hairstyle should come to a stop if such a person wants to fit into the corporate world. In the corporate world, you get to mingle with matured or married men with enough decency. Sagging in their midst will make you look kiddo. Just cos your favourite musician davido sags his trousers doesn’t mean you should do thesame. He gets paid to do that while you could get fired for doing the same
3. Spendthrift Attitude
The first time I heard someone say his salary is 70k, I hissed and mocked him in my mind cos that was thesame amount we students spent on phones just to oppress each other. Now I’ve seen people earning less than 45k even with years of experience. What kind of person do you think you’ll turn out to be when all you want is the latest expensive gadgets? In the real world, no one cares about the kind of phone you use. Even on naija campus these days, girls have stopped falling for a guy because of the phone he uses, they now trip for flashy cars. So, before you spend that huge amount on a phone, ask yourself this question: “is it going to improve my standard of living?”. I didn’t know I could turn my smart phone to a mini laptop with WPS, Excel etc until I got employed. My phone was all about bbm, whatsapp and facebook. I now saw the full potential of the phone. You need to cut down on your spendings. Also, get the idea of clubbing off your mind or it might ruin your pockets. The money saved from disciplining yourself can be used to start something great. Use your head.
4. Laziness
You remember how you use to complain about the large notebooks you have to read for exams? If you lack a good reading culture, it is certain you will be bereft of ideas to contribute to a company’s growth. You are always seen reading gossip blogs where you are updated with the lifestyle of celebrities but lack the idea of what the top 20 questions interviewers ask. Scaling through campus days as a lazy person doesn’t mean such is likely to continue in the real world. Carrying on with laziness is what leads to prostitution, where a lady feels she can use her body to fetch her daily bread instead of her brain, or where a guy still expects his uncle to be the one to help him achieve his targets even after getting him a job through nepotism. You get to wonder why they spent 16yrs developing their brain in school.
5. Pride
I’ve now realise that 350k is only feasible for those in the oil sector and those with huge years of experience, not a fresh graduate who doesn’t know his left from his right. As you are about graduating, never see any job as demeaning. Take it up while you continue searching for a better one. This gives you experience. A bird in hand is better than a million in the bush. Remember, you are a nobody and no one gives a damn about you out there. So, drop your pride and use your head and hands or end up spending years still eating your mum’s food with insults.
